Not zero. Just close to it. Kellogg is a Lt General, the same as McMaster. He was also interim NSA between Flynn and McMaster. Hiring and firing NSC staff is Kellogg’s bailiwick and there’s no evidence that he is in the habit of turning over his prerogatives to someone else.
The only “evidence” of McMaster’s nefarious influence over personnel are the usual rumors circulated around here by people who wouldn’t know Keith Kellogg from a box of cornflakes.
That would be a good trick considering that NSA’s don’t do the hiring and firing of NSC staff. The guy making staffing decisions has been Keith Kellogg, the NSC Executive Secretary and Chief of Staff.
Or it could be an easy trick because it seems Trump is moving away from the Obama Generals who have served him poorly.
Lt Gen Kellogg earned a solid rep as intertim NSA; and should be moved back up to Bolton's sworn deputy, if that is not the plan already...

The proof is in the pudding. The NSC has been leaking like a sieve and poorly serving POTUS.
A sage General Officer once told me, “When you take command, you need to have a public execution as soon as possible. The remainder of your command will be a cake walk.”
By public execution he meant find some meat head (there’s always one or two around...just ask your senior NCO’s) and have a Court Martial. Everyone behaves after that.
This is the right approach for Bolton.

Do you believe that there have been too many leaks from the NSC organization? If Trump thinks the answer is yes, he could fire Kellog and appoint somebody else. Bolton says he will clean house.

When a corporation cleans house and gets rid of people, they do not tell them in advance, to protect the corporation from monkey wrenching and file stealing.
They just walk security in to escort them out of the building and have someone follow up with a box of items from their desks.
