I am sure many will let me know if they believe I am way off on this, but I truly believe Trump is still looking out for the country's best interests.

All the while setting the stage for the Establishment to answer to the voters this fall.

After all, it was the establishment Republicans and Democrats in Congress who sent this to Trump to sign.

Now all Trump has to do is only spend what he feels like and much of it wherever and however he so desires.

If Trump tries to pull what Obama did, both sides of the aisle will go for impeachment on the grounds of misappropriating funds.

Someone show!

“...To begin with, you need to understand that the bill President Trump signed, was NOT a Budget....”

Many don’t realize this. This is exactly what the criminal Obama did for eight years...he operated as he wanted, spent as he wanted, WITHOUT A BUDGET!!!

As you note, Trump is free to manage his spending where he wants (pretty much). Also he put Congress on notice about signing money bills which could easily include an actual budget. Trump will continue to operate in the best interest of the country — not some self-serving political agenda as the Swamp does. They just don’t know how to work for anyone but themselves. I hope he has some influence on WHO is the leadership in the Congress -— maybe wishful thinking but you never know.

You don’t make umpty-bazillion dollars in business by being a moron.

Morons typically become professors, newsmen, congressmen, and senators.

......The President is directed by the Constitution to adhere to a Budget that Congress approves. A ‘spending bill’ is not the same as the Federal Budget. This bill is just a another Continuing Resolution to keep the government functioning, but this time for 6 Months.......

........ Most budget experts will tell you that a President seeking to spend less will find plenty of room to maneuver in the language used in an authorization or appropriations bill. Who knows, we could learn later this year that Trump spent less than half of what Congress authorized him to spend. Nice to have a frugal President for a change, ain't it?...

....As for funding Planned parenthood, the Hyde Amendment specifically prohibits federal money being spent on abortion in other than certain specific circumstances? Trump could just tell PP, "Sorry Charley, but the Hyde Amendment stops me from giving you money."

Reagan improved our military readiness to unprecedented levels (at the time).

He also shut down the government 6 times during his tenure.

Trump did not need to sign this bill.

I am hopeful that this is exactly what is happening.

And perhaps Congress will decide to actually “pass a budget” at some point so that the system really works as intended. No budget for 9 years??? It’s not good.

After all, what ever happened to all those “shovel ready jobs”? What happened to the “Infrastructure” that Congress appropriated money for?

Here in Los Angeles I personally watched as they put those stupid little signs touting the slush fund for "shovel ready" projects on EVERY EXISTING CONSTRUCTION PROJECT IN THE CITY!!! NON of them were new or a result of the slush fund, all were planned or in existence already

Thank you for this. Our President can only work with that which he has. THIS WAS ALL HE HAD. He worked with it doing all he could do with tied hands. He attempts to make the best out of a bad situation. TRUST HIM. His knowledge far exceeds ours and it is believed that he was put here for a Specific Purpose.

Cut him some slack, Jack.
Offer up a prayer of thanksgiving that he sits in the cushy chair. And pray that he is successful.

Trump may just, with this move and its follow ons, be ending the venerable Congressional tradition of not passing budgets.

The money is appropriated. What is used is another thing. The fact that he has the defense money he wanted is proof that he got what he wanted.

People like Ann Coulter and apparently some Senators like Rand Paul, are clueless.
