WILL NORTH KOREA GIVE UP NUCLEAR WEAPONS? THESE PHOTOS SUGGEST KIM JONG UN MAY BE SERIOUS
NEWSWEEK ^ | 3/23/2018 | TOM O'CONNOR

North Korea has suspended activity at its main nuclear site, according to recent satellite imagery and expert analysis that appeared to support Pyongyang's offers to solve the crisis on the Korean Peninsula diplomatically.

President Donald Trump's decision to accept an unprecedented invitation to meet North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong Un came after South Korean officials assured the Republican leader that Kim was willing to denuclearize in exchange for peace. As suspicions arose as to what North Korea's true intentions were, leading analysts Frank V. Pabian, Joseph S. Bermudez Jr. and Jack Liu found a major slowdown at the Punggye-ri nuclear test site in a report posted Friday to 38 North, a project of the U.S.-Korea Institute at the Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies.

"Imagery from early March had shown signs of continued tunneling excavations at the West Portal, including mining carts and significant amounts of new spoil deposits. Large groups of personnel were also noted in the open support areas serving the nuclear test site’s Command Center. However, imagery from March 17 showed no evidence of tunneling operations or the presence of any personnel or vehicles at any of the support areas including those near the Command Center," the report read.

There are probably a couple of crude fission devices ready for concealment on shipping containers for “negotiation purpose”.

Interesting.

Not disputing this at all, but just want to point out that 2 pictures aren’t a trend.

You could take a picture of my house and see a car in the driveway two weeks ago and no car today. That could mean a lot of different things. I could be at work. I could have sold the car. I could have wrecked the car. I could be at the grocery store. etc., etc.

So I hope the intel agencies have more than what’s in the pictures shown in the article.

The pictures look like they were taken at different times of the day. People could be outside on a smoke break vs. inside working. They could be after hours or a day off or ......

I think Kim KNOWS that Trump sees whether he is working on his missile program.

I think someone SAID to him, that Trump wants him to stop work on his missile program, while negotiations are in process.

This seems to be a good sign that Trump got the right message to Kim, and it seems to be a good sign that Kim seems to be negotiating back, in good form.

I really do not know whether anything will come of this, but this seems to be a good first sign.

It could be that NK's only friend,China, has decided that peace on the Korean Peninsula is in their best interest...which would be a change from their policy of the last 70 years or so.

If,by chance, that's what's happened it's possible that Kim Jong Psychopath figures he has no choice.

I read sometime back that the reason FatBoy is giving up North Korea's nuclear program is because his daddy's slush fund ran out of money. As in "we're broke". Dead in the water.

Now he has nothing to fall back on except help from someone else. His entrée into the Olympics in Seoul was also a move to endear himself and his people to the outside world.

This meeting not yet planned with Trump may break serious new ground.

Knowing Trump, I'd say he'll come out on top no matter what the outcome.

Newsweek? Come on, a once great magazine that was sold for one dollar? Can any truth come from this pathetic excuse for a news site? Beyond that, If Trump succeeds in convincing the pot bellied rocket man to give up his nuclear ambitions, and to reunify the two Koreas, Trump will be a king maker, immune from anything. It will be Ronald Reagan, chapter two. Still, too early to hold any position.

Q has told us that the deal with North Korea is done. President Trump met Kim in the Forbidden City last Fall on the Asia trip. It is likely that Ivanka met with the half-sister at the Olympics. Jerad went to Mexico City, where there is a NoKo Embassy, two days before the announcement of the meeting. Iran is next.

We will all be saying “peace and security “ very soon.

North Korea, it’s citizens and Kim would gain greatly. The country’s economy would flourish, the citizens would have a better standard of living and Kim’s legacy as a leader of his country would be stellar. Not only in his countrywould but beyond.
