Update: President Trump announced that he is signing the spending bill as a "matter of national security." But he also said, "there are a lot of things Im unhappy about" in the measure.
Earlier report
Just hours after threatening a veto, President Trump appeared set to back down and sign a sweeping $1.3 trillion spending bill passed by Congress early Friday and avoid a government shutdown, according to senior legislative aides.
In a morning tweet, Trump said he might veto the omnibus bill because it does nothing to address the fate of young undocumented immigrants known as dreamers and does not fully fund his border wall.

The art of the deal? I’m done defending him and these turd Republicans-—Time to start praying that we will not have to use our last line of defense to save the Republic.
I didn’t say ‘never sign’. No clue who you’re posting to.
At least now we know the Chicoms are behind the drug trade that necessitates no wall ever.
That’s OK Q ANON will save us! [sarc]
We are on the road to being Europe and there’s NOTHING that will stop it. Nothing.
Then stick a fork in him, he’s done! Just another liar.
$1.6 billion for 33 miles of new and improved border fencing and flood prevention rebuilds of levees along the Rio Grande River in Hidalgo County Texas is even more correct.
A reflective moment.....We all knew...Trump knew....that this swamp is deep and wide. What, really, are the chances to save the Republic? What can one man and his supporters do to outflank The Swamp? The Swamp has been here for over 50 years. I am no longer ticket off at Trump. He is human, and we all have no idea what he is enduring, what the threats are.
He could have said, this is crap ..and vetoed it..?
That is quite true. However, Trump may build a world-class defense at the cost of his presidency; a defense the likes of Pelosi and Schumer will inherit to use or not use in the best interests of America.
Arguably, the necessity of making up for lost time re defense wasn't the critical hinge point at this specific point in time. Trump will now suffer a "read my lips" that may affect well affect his term of office.
As Beergardem points out above, "Now they know his weak points".
Congress just sucker punched POTUS. Led by RINOS, Republican Good-old-boys and the Republican Never Trumpers They set Trump up big time. They finally gave him Politics 101, Rope-a-dope etc. I wonder if I still have time to cancel my check to the RNC. Last one out please turn off the lights..
This must be what it feels like to be a Detroit Lion fan ...
Yep.
I’m disappointed he didn’t veto... “Back to Jesus is the only man who has never disappointed me” Oh, Well.
However, I agree with you. What is alternative? I suppose he will try to spend as much military funding in next 6 months as possible, and fight back during next funding bill... who knows?
I will continue to pray for him, and support the man I helped elect. Time to trust he knows things I don’t, even though I wanted a VETO on PP and lack of funds for Wall! :)
I could use that ‘0 Drama’ doll right now, to stab with pins/punch a few times! ...lol
Trump didn’t betray the country, the uniparty Congress did.
Exactly. Everyone take a deep breather here...
We cant win everything. God, he’s surrounded at all sides by treacherous snakes like Ryan. Easy for everyone here to give up but the alternative in Hitlery? BLECCCHHH. Perspective..
What is needed is a Congress that is willing to defund Planned Parenthood and sanctuary cities.
I read your earlier post, and it was helpful, it made me think deeper than surface disappointment. Thanks. :)
Oh, so all those high octane speeches about building the wall, defunding Planned Parenthood etc were for the monkeys?
Haven’t seen 3d chess, but have seen it’s straight from The Art of the Deal.
Anytime. Heck, we survived 8 YEARS of obama and we cant win everytime but we win MOST of the time People here forget what wins he gave us for the past year. I’m sure Trump is mad too. Have a super weekend and chill :)
