GOP Rep Perry: You Couldn’t Have Read the Omnibus Before the House Voted on it
Breitbart ^ | 22 Mar 2018 | Ian Hanchett

Posted on 03/23/2018 10:40:19 AM PDT by detective

On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Outnumbered Overtime,” House Freedom Caucus member Scott Perry (R-PA) stated that no one could have read the omnibus bill before the House voted on it.

Perry said, “[W]e get the bill, 2,232 pages last night at 8:30. … But you could have stayed up all night anyhow, into right now, and read the bill, and you still wouldn’t be done. So, it — look, it’s not good when the other side does it, and it’s not good when this side does it. We want to know what we’re voting on.”

None of the Congressmen and Senators who voted for the budget bill could have possibly have read it.

Only Pelosi, Schumer and possibly Ryan and McConnell know what is in the bill.

I doubt that Trump knows what is in the bill. He was probably given a short, dishonest summary. Trump's staff said he would sign it. I think Trump is just beginning to realize what is in it.

Trump was betrayed and put into an extremely difficult position. Trump needs to veto the bill and take his case directly to the American people.

There is no good decision in this case. The Democrats, the media and the Washington establishment know they have Trump in an extremely difficult position. They have a strategy to undermine Trump whatever he does.

The bill has been in the works and discussed before congress for months. The basics don’t change. All you have to read at this point are the revisions. You should hve read the rest over a period of time.

If President Trump signs it, then he will make it work for America.

I would have preferred Trump to veto the bill and take the heat. If overridden, he could ask the voters to elect candidates supporting his agenda in the midterms.

Didn’t there use to be a certain amount of time set aside for public (the People) to debate?
Or, did I slip through another time portal, again?

Well he singed it? What makes you think he wasn't part of it?

The “Christmas Tree” budget bill - apparently sometimes the minority party DOES get its wishes granted in part.

For sure, the majority party came away with a severe case of dyspepsia.

Do your job, Mitch McConnell. Kill the filibuster once and for all.

Well, congresscritter, where is the roll call vote that allowed them to dispense with the reading of the bill? Oh, there wasn’t one? In other words, you didn’t give a damn about whether the bill was read or not. You’re just being yet another lying politician that can’t be trusted to tell me the sky is blue.

I want to be a congress creature. Get paid $180k, maintain 2 households and retire as a multi millionaire with gold plated health care. Best part you do not have to do your job, sponsor any important legislation, read any bills and spend half the year on break or paid vacations. Of course I would have to give my soul to the devil. NOT WORTH IT. Almost all of them are bastards.

They screwed the President and the People. I half hoped he would veto it but understand why he didn’t - like how he threw the gauntlet down and stated he will not sign another such monstrosity and told the Repubs to get rid of the damn filibuster and go to a simple majority vote....he kept his promise to the military and will end up keeping the rest of his promises to the People before he’s done with the traitors he has to work with.
