More California cities may consider defying the states sanctuary state laws, after the city council of Los Alamitos passed an ordinance defying the states controversial new legislation preventing cooperation with federal immigration authorities.
Leaders of Los Alamitos, in Orange County, passed the ordinance 4-1 and instructed the city attorney to file an amicus brief in the ongoing Department of Justice lawsuit against the State of California. The lawsuit challenges the Immigrant Worker Protection Act (HB 450), the Inspection and Review of Facilities Housing Federal Detainees law (AB 103); and the California Values Act (SB 54).
The Orange County Register reports that other cities and even Orange County itself are now thinking of following suit (original links):
- The County of Orange and several cities in Southern California soon might join Los Alamitos in its bid to opt out of a controversial state law that limits cooperation with federal immigration officials.
- Officials with the county as well as leaders in Aliso Viejo and Buena Park said Tuesday they plan to push for various versions of the anti-sanctuary ordinance approved in Los Alamitos late Monday by a 4-1 vote of that city council.
- Immigration advocates said Los Alamitos and cities and counties that follow its opt-out ordinance will be violating state law and at risk of litigation.

He pledged that on day 1 he would work to overturn all Sanctuary laws...and return the Rule of Law to CA.
It would be ironic if California invoked it’s version of the supremacy clause here.
I must say that I am a bit relieved to hear this news.
He won’t even make the final two in the General.
We will have a choice of a Commie SOB and Democrat, but I repeat myself.
All thanks to the wonderful Electoral System in CA.
“- Immigration advocates said Los Alamitos and cities and counties that follow its opt-out ordinance will be violating state law and at risk of litigation.”
GOOD! Tie that little Commie Mexican State AG, Javier Beccara, up in court so far he won’t see daylight!
Grand irony indeed.

Are you optimistic in the long run that someone like Cox could ever be elected governor, let alone return the rule of law to a state that seems to be deeply entrenched in one-party rule?
Many areas of the Confederacy were unionist and raised regiments to serve the Federal Government.
“All thanks to the wonderful Electoral System in CA.”
Which was agreed to by the gutless CAGOP.
Now is the time for Americans still in California to declare their allegiance to the USA.
CA cities are too far gone....leadership in those cities will need to be arrested and sentenced to GITMO as enemy combatants before it’s ever turned around.

Actually, I am, because the Commie RATs here are so far over the edge that they are seriously overplaying their hand. And with the state’s budgetary woes, CA is ripe for a financial crash, which would likely reset everything politically. Possibly, these anti-sanctuary cities and counties will lead the way.
That’s how the state of West Virginia came to be.
I must say that I am a bit relieved to hear this news.

Huh?
It’s past time to close Alcatraz as a tourist spot and re-open it as a prison(no modern renovations, except security) to hold all of these California law breakers.
So far, I’ve not seen any punishments dolled out or arrests for “leaders” in governmental positions in CA...
Someone show me where I am wrong.
Threats, sure.
Actions, none.
When no actions are done, it’s like trying to enforce trespassing on one’s property to access a lake behind your property. If you allow people for years to do so, then put up a fence, they will force you to take it down.
There are still some sane people in California.
Jerry is very concerned.
A law that mandates breaking another law is itself invalid, and not binding.
These sh!tholes only coddle the illegals because of the government money that comes with them; end that, and these places will either come up with the money themselves or throw the illegal parasites out. NJ has many of the same issues with this as CA.
