WHY the huge push for driver less cars? Can someone explain this to me?
They can shove up their rear end! I’d never have one!

I can see them adding an extra lane for these cars....just like they have for buses. They're just tiny buses built for 4....aka....Taxi.

They're not meant for people to purchase cuz why would someone buy a $100,000 car that they couldn't drive?

More government control of its minions probably is part of the plan. No speeding, no unplanned trips, way to locate everyone on the road 24/7.

Who runs this country anyway, the people or Google? Google or the Deep State? Or perhaps, Deep State and Google?

Because to the urban hipster, driving is a chore, not the ticket to freedom that it is to the rest of us. All the better to be delegated to the electronic nannies, so they can focus on the important things in life, like Facebook & Twitter...

It’s insanity. Can’t explain it anymore than I can explain global warming, gun control, fruit marriage, men in the ladies’ room or any other democrat fad du jour.

You may not have a choice. Driving is
a privilege, not a right. It may take
20-30 years, but cars that require an
operator may be slowly phased out,
and driverless cars will be the norm.
Those that support driverless cars
are the ones who passenger in a carpool
and like to nap on the way to work, or
just aren’t comfortable driving. (high
anxiety types), poor(can’t afford
insurance), another Freeper brought
this one up.
The takeover could drive the market
up for cars that need an operator after
time as they become more and more scarce.
Keep what you have, and take care of it.
Of course, all said here is just my
humble opinion.

“They can shove up their rear end! I’d never have one!”

Then you can just sit on your a$$ when you are too old or unable to drive!

It’s the first baby steps of Skynet to dominate humans. It is the first hint of The Singularity. It will take a while for them to make us pets and even longer for them to exterminate all of us.

35,000 fatalities on US roads every year.

They don’t drink and drive or get distracted with texting.

It is anticipated that the death toll will plummet.

So insurance companies want it. Ride sharing (Uber) want it, the main cost is the driver. The trucking industry wants it, the main cost is the driver.

It remains to be seen if a consumer will buy one, although I think the inevitable is, once-proven, it’ll be a required feature (like ABS).

That's easy.

It's a fad, and it's pushed by people who have this delusional, dangerous faith in the reliability of any new gizmo that comes on the market.
