Yesterday we had students walking out of school all over the country to protest gun violence. Now, in Baltimore and some other cities, there may be a different type of walkout. Teachers are objecting to the idea of any of them being trained and armed, so much so that if there are any armed teachers in the school they will walk out as well. (CBS Baltimore)

Yes, lets make an exception for Baltimore. Do not arm the teachers. After all, they will still likely be at an arms disadvantage by their students, so forget it.

Those teachers need to go home and stay there, or stay at their schools permanently. Guns are out there. They can’t expect live in a gun free environment constantly.
What really bothers me is the reaction of some to the presence of any law enforcement office with a side arm. They freak out.
If a deputy or police officer comes into their school armed, are they going to walk out in protest?
Why didn’t we think of this before? This will really help improve the schools.
