FBI officials have recommended that the former number two at the FBI Andrew McCabe be fired, CBS News' Paula Reid reports. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is reviewing the recommendation. It's likely he'll take the recommendation because it would be difficult for Sessions, who has promised to go after leakers, to be perceived as looking the other way on leaks. Another factor -- it would likely upset the president if it appears that Sessions is going too easy on McCabe over his handling of the Hillary Clinton email probe.
The bureau, asked for a response, said that it had no personnel announcements, but released a statement saying, ""The Department follows a prescribed process by which an employee may be terminated. That process includes recommendations from career employees and no termination decision is final until the conclusion of that process."
The Justice Department's inspector general is, according to media reports, expected to criticize McCabe as part of its investigation into the handling of the Clinton email investigation. The Associated Press reported earlier this month that "criticism of McCabe was expected to be in connection with a media disclosure and a question of whether proper procedures were followed in the release of information."
The move, if it happens, would endanger McCabe's pension and retirement benefits.
Anybody remember this tweet?
“FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is racing the clock to retire with full benefits. 90 days to go?!!:”
He waited until the very last second to fire him, LOL must be personal.
If Jeffy fails to fire him in time to prevent pension and retirement, Trump should quickly follow with the firing of Jeffy!!
McCabe - protected the MURDER of the Americans
at Benghazi, AND protected PIZZAGATE,
AND protected Clintons’PAY2Play, AND ....
I thought .gov drones didn’t participate in 401Ks. They have a Thrift Savings Plan, which is voluntary. Don’t know if he contributed to his TSP ....
“House of cards to implode cause hell sing.”
No he won’t. He’ll never spend a day behind bars either. He’ll meet with an unfortunate accident if he becomes too much of a liability and anything that makes him sing or risks his incarceration is too much of a liability.
“I thought he already was fired.”
Should be fired upon.
Translation:
The corrupt state needs a fall guy and the FBI’s reputation is in the toilet.
I’m sure Sessions will wait for the IG report /rolleyes
A massive conspiracy of high treason and we can’t even get anyone fired. What a country, eh?
“I think this whole deal with McCabe since forcing him to retire early was about his pension. “
Maybe they can use the pension issue to squeeze the living shit out of him and make him squeal on all the other filth.
He will go the the federal pension board and they will give it to him.
If he gives McCabe a break, there needs to be consequences.
Prison for DCriminals. Firing a criminal is why DC is so hopeless.
Fixed.
Doubt it would even get to pension board. Unless he’s actually convicted of one of the crimes specified in 5 U.S.C § 8312, his pension is secure. Leaking to the press isn’t on the list unless it’s classified info.
He should have been fired on Jan 21st a year ago. After his gathering of senior FBI officials between the election and Jan 20th when he said first we F Flynn and then we F Trump, he should have NEVER been allowed to stay. Not to mention the bribes his wife took on his behalf from the Clintons during her state senate campaign. He should be in jail.
Agreed. But that should have been done on the afternoon of Jan 20, 2017. I’m beginning to believe Trump was naive when he came to office thinking he would work with some of these people. Meanwhile they were working to cut his throat.
I am not familiar with the federal system, but usually it isn’t all or nothing. If your vested and get fired or leave early, you get reduced benefits when your eligible to start drawing. I think the guy has 2 weeks to go, so the reduction wouldn’t likely be much for the basic pension. I think he would need a conviction related to his job in order to lose it.
He has been quoted as saying something to the effect of if he loses his pension he is not going down alone.
I surely hope this is true and he starts to sing loud and clear.
