GOP Senator Rand Paul publicly announced his total opposition to President Trumps nominees to head the State Department and the CIA on Wednesday; saying hes going to do everything he can to block them from office.
According to Politico, the outspoken Senator revealed his intentions while speaking with reporters at the US Capitol, saying people complain sometimes about the filibuster but added he plans to use the procedural maneuver to derail the nomination process.
People complain sometimes about the filibuster, they complain about trying to obstruct
Im going to do everything I can to block them, said Paul.
Im perplexed by the nomination of people who love the Iraq War so much that they would advocate for a war with Iran next, Paul added. It goes against most of the things President Trump campaigned on, that the unintended consequences of regime change in Iraq led to instability in the Middle East.

If he was good enough for CIA, why is not good enough for State? Also how is Gaspel somehow worse than Pompeo? Rand picks weird hills to die on.

The good news is Rand’s vote wont amount to anything and they will be confirmed

Not a fight you should be waging, Rand.
It goes against most of the things President Trump campaigned on, that the unintended consequences of regime change in Iraq led to instability in the Middle East.
When has the Middle East EVER been stable? Trump's purpose is to have a STRONG SecState, one who will carry out his policies with vigor. Having a strong US policy regarding the Middle East will always render positive results for the US and Israel. You always want to negotiate with a position of strength. BHO had NONE. Trump has proven, in roughly 1 year in office, that he has strength.

Paul is supposedly still persnickety because these people supported the Iraq war and he didn't. Seems strange to re-litigate something that happened 15 years ago. But Rand Paul has always been a strange one. Not that it will matter as Republicans will probably pick up a couple democrats like Joe Manchin.

President Trump did in fact campaign about using his negotiating skills to end the war mongering. He also campaigned against regime change. Somehow, he got convinced by the globalists that Assad was the bad guy. Trump's on the wrong side, supporting what the US did to topple the gov in Kiev. He got caught up in giving the fake leaders in Afghanistan more time.
On this issue, I support Rand Paul.

Republicans will probably pick up a couple democrats like Joe Manchin Munchkin may possibly support in a desperate bid to remain relevant. It won't work.

I don’t think Paul is very smart. He could easily be sucked into the political swamp draining. The loser is going to lose.
