Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. DKS 0.98% said its decision to no longer sell guns to anyone under 21 years old has hurt traffic and retail sales as the move upset some customers and exacerbated headwinds to its hunting and gun business. ... “Some of those customers that buy firearms, buy other things also,” Dick’s Chief Executive Edward Stack told analysts on a conference call. “There are just going to be some people who just don’t shop us anymore for anything.” ... Dick’s said its hunting business posted negative comparable-store sales and expects the challenges to continue this year, with its new gun policies being an additional burden.

Shop at Cabela’s because they’re not Dick’s!
I set foot in one of there stores a while back. We particularly go for the gun and camping departments. Theirs was pathetic compared to Cabelas or Scheels. This latest gun issue reaffirms my lack of interest in buying anything from a Dick.
This jerk got his job as CEO the “old-fashioned way,” he inherited it from his father, Dick Stack. Too bad he didn't inherit the brains to go with it! I'll just bet you that Dick Stack is turning over in his grave having people use his good name as a pejorative term. Edward needs to change his firm's name to Edward's and sell women's wear, or household crap. Maybe run a "special" on pink vagina hats!
What they dont know is how many decided never to come there again because of their idiocy.

Lordy, lordy, whoda thunk it. Insulting millions of Second Amendment/NRA customers does have an effect on a sporting goods store. Here’s an idea. Dick’s could recoup some of its lost revenue by selling Hillary’s latest effort, “What Happened.”

You are exactly correct! I waited, with $400 cash in my hand, for 20 minutes, to get someone to sell me a .357 lever action rifle, a few years ago. Waived my $$ at the cashier on the way out. This was at the store on 494.
That is what is so crazy...it isn't like there are only one or two sporting goods stores scattered across the US.
Heck, even in any small town in Idaho there are half a dozen businesses that sell everything that Dick's sells.

I used to buy ammo from Dick’s. Don’t need to anymore. There is a Cabela’s near me in the same shopping center as Dick’s.
