There was a version of the ‘Pueblo Saga’
by Robert A. Liston -
“The Pueblo Surrender: A Covert Action by the National Security Agency”
and his main theme was that NSA had placed a Teletype Machine on the Pueblo with a ‘glitch’ in it hoping it would reach Russian Hands.

NSA had suspected Russian of ‘reading our mail’ and the glitched machine did show up in Russian control.

John Walker either launched his spy career or ‘we’ were onto him around then and this also came about from the Russians having the machine.

I don’t know if all this true or coincidence as I never saw verification of this ‘theory’ and I did study up on the incident as it was ‘close to home’.

The Pueblo in and of itself is not that big of a deal. However, it’s what she represents, especially to the NORKS. It would be great to get her back thereby removing a propoganda symbol from their quiver. That’s why I always mention her in these threads about North Korea. She means a lot to me even though I have absolutely zero connection to her. Mainly for the remainder of her crew to have her back under US control.

Ah yes . . . "saving face" is the dirty little secret in this whole mess. Consider:

After decades of indoctrinating a populace the evils of USA . . . how does one turn that same populace into accepting that great evil . . . without losing face?

Yes, many many details many pitfalls, however I believe its a done deal. Why? When two parties come together and really want a solution . . . it will be accomplished!

Of course, much work to be accomplished. The take-away form the South Koreans who reported this, is laying the groundwork, the foundation so to speak, the state-of-mind that Little rocket man is in. This is all part of the negotiations, the preparations that take place before such a meeting.

That foundation, that state-of-mind is far far different than anything our media will report. Simple as that.

Considering the SOS Tillerson was not aware of the announcement, obviously President Trump is NOT going through the State Department. That alone guarantees success.

I’m sure Trump’s staff are aware of risks.

You never ever win by making an Asian lose face. You take their wallet, their phone, their keys and tell them how much you respect them. It is really easy dealing with them. The Chinese are flat out crooks. The Japanese anal. Koreans are anal crooks. I really hated going to Asia because the planes reeked of garlic and most of their food is slimy. Korean BBQ is good tho.

How about NK agrees to reunite with SK and there’s no need for a new embassy.

I'm sure Kim Jong Un would love that but I doubt that the average South Korean would enjoy living under his rule.

NK is asking for nothing less than the success of its nulcear blackmail via “diplomacy”.

Trump would be wrong to give it either an American embassy or any U.S. pledge to “preserve” the regime in North Korea. Other’s, Iran, will learn they can take diplomacy with U.S. hostage with nuclear arms, until the U.S. gives in to demands for “peace” on THEIR terms.

The U.S. position should be:

When North Korean nuclearization is an internationally verifiable, indisputable and transparent fact other things can be put on the negotiation table. Until then, the state of relations cannot be improved in any way.

Absolutely agree. In due time.

In the meantime Kim Jing Un sent the first signal through the South Koreans intermediaries that was very important. First was his global view of the end goal. Secondly he was putting his bargaining chips on the table. Obviuosly, Kim Jong Un read Donald Trump's book "Art of the Deal."

No, I meant Kim and North Korea living under democratic rule.
