Yeah I think one thing may lead to another. However, I also think our purpose should be clear and not lukewarm. Otherwise it could be a slippery slope either way.

” yet we have to deal with the practical matters at hand and gently lead the way.”

I think you made an excellent point.

"if trump brokers a deal with noko- will trump get the nobel peace prize?

Ha x 9. I am assuming that is a rhetorical question. And a funny one at that.

Did President Ronald Reagan win a nobel peace prize? No. Did Reagan's counterpart, the communist Gorbachev recieve a nobel peace prize? Yes. 1990.

All anyone needs to know about world order!

The Nobel Peace Prize for Trump was actually brought up on a discussion of this subject on I believe Lou Dobbs. They had a good laugh.

unlike Obama maybe we should wait for results before we start taking about prizes. Having a meeting is not a result, just like being black is not a result.

They brought up the Nobel Peace Prize and Obama as a joke during a serious discussion about Trump meeting Un. It was a joke on the Nobel Peace Prize and Obama.

Maybe we can settle the Korean War while we are at it - there has been an armistice since 1953.

The biggest fear of the media is Trump overseeing the signing of a peace treaty between North and South Korea, in the rose garden.

The biggest enemy of the American people is the occupation media followed by North Korea and Iran.

Yes!

Those soldiers who gave all have indeed been forgotten and I would demand North Korea to officially SURRENDER to America and her allies. I don't give a sh*t what the Chicoms think. Everything in any talks should be America gaining most and the Norks happy that they are still alive and tyranny and the war is OVER. America and South Korea will do everything to make the North like the South and one Korea will take lifetimes to achieve. The eventual reunification should also be American in scope with no Chicom influence.

I will not trust any of this even if it were to transpire until it becomes as ironclad as the Wall coming down and boots on ground as the post WWII model. BTW, can it be said that reunification will cost upwards to a trillion U.S. Dollars in the similar plan as Marshall?

heh heh heh.... He don’t know, he don’t know....

Starts with an embassy, moves to USAID, ends with Senor Frogs and American middle age women tourists complaining about the hotels within 15 years.

Return the USS Pueblo, get our three guys they hold, Open North Korea up, build a Trump Tower, treaty with south and Japan. Bring in some Japanese mining companies, We could send them food, and open up tourist sites. Did you know that Korea had a great wall to keep out Mongols? It might make a great tourist site. Little Kim will not broker away his life and power—but if he will loosen up his ways on his people—that will be good for all. In time North and south will unite as did east and west Germany did.

1968 . . . hmmmm I would agree, still remember the headlines and photographs in the newspaper. Followed the hearings and Commander Bucher. Many who paid would agree.

I never followed up to know if what we were told was true. Remember about that same time we were learning the Bay of Tonkin was not exactly what we were first told. Then of course President Johnson . . . argh. Funny thing is everything Q talks about now and today . . . we talked the same then. Yeah a few names have changed, but in principal same ole same ole.

Anyone under the age of 50 probably could not spell USS Pueblo let alone know anything ever occurred. But you are correct. That would be the right and honorable thing to do.

As I wrote elsewhere, I suspected Mattis and Trump would deploy psyops and a Godfather-like event to tame Rocket Man.

= = = = = = = = = =

Would South Korea just ‘absorb’ North Korea OR would it say it would/could then form an ‘Asian Union’ because they can’t and will count on the rest of Asia to help?

And think of how much face they’d lose by returning the Pueblo to us. I would consider that a major victory over the NORKS.

I came to Southeast Asia 2005. The tourist trade and the countries fighting for that trade has been incredible.

Example . . .2005 12 million visitors . . . 2017 36 million visitors. It is a huge huge economic source of income.

Yup while the women for sure complain and frogs complain, pretty sure a whole bunch will be smiling. At least, here in Thailand, it is called the "Land of Smiles."

Now, now keep your thoughts clean and straight. /s
