An armed man took three hostages during an "active shooter situation" at a California veterans home Friday afternoon, a fire official said.
Earlier, it emerged the veterans home was on lockdown after reports of shots fired.
The Napa County Sheriffs Office said officers responded to the Veterans Home of California in Yountville around 10:45 a.m. local time and a shelter-in-place order was issued.

Send in Stormy Daniels with an AR15. The left will go crazy.

We need Hans Blix to send the perps a harshly worded letter.
Another lefty.
Unless someone was shooting people....its a hostafe situation not an active shooter incident.
Wait, the Deep State made a mistake. They were supposed to target another school. A preschool would have been ideal.
We are a country in the grip of Satanists.
How do guns get into an Old Vets Home?
Someone probably fat-fingered the municipal address in the "go" text.
I’ve eaten there, about 15 years ago. Blew me away. It was expensive. We had to wait months for a reservation. But it was totally worth it. Went with my wife and best friend. We swore we were going back asap. But prices kept soaring and last time I checked, I think they were twice what we paid. So sadly, we have not been back.
If anyone is thinking of going, my advice is... you only live once! Don’t deprive yourself of the experience. Yummy. And the wines perfectly matched the food. Better than I’ve ever experienced in any restaurant. We let them recommend the wines and they could’ve really reamed us. But I think somehow they could tell we were dining above our means, without us ever saying anything to them about it (maybe it was my coveralls and straw hat) and brought us three or four bottles (some splits, so were weren’t blasted out of our minds when we left) of mid-priced wines during the meal. Like I said, wonderful experience.
A well are society is a polite society.
The shots fired were apparently between the suspect and officers. I wouldn’t be surprised if the guy were once a resident at the home.
The gunman slipped into a fundraiser for the nonprofit Pathway Home, a privately run program on the veteran home’s grounds. The Pathway Home treats veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars who have post-traumatic stress disorder.
The three hostages are all Pathway House employees
The LEO on the scene said they know who the gunman is, but aren’t releasing his identity at this time.
This guy.
A true American hero and a real man.
Gunman in Yountville Veterans Home hostage situation is a veteran, recently kicked out of a Napa County-based program helping veterans reintegrate after combat.
Last I knew a lot of cars, including emergency vehicles, have been leaving but officials say still an active situation and scene isnt clear.
This is a one strangely quiet shooter/hostage situation. The latest news online is showing that the hostages were taken almost 9 hours ago. So far the gunman has refused all contact from law enforcement. I read the same thing you say, that the gunman is a veteran who was recently kicked out of the program.
I also read that there were fewer than nine security officers for the whole facility at the time the hostages were taken, and none of them were armed. This is the largest veterans home in the nation and California doesn’t allow any armed security.
It’s good they’re keeping it quiet....this is a veteran with PTSD from what I gather.( I knew a Vietnam fellow who suffers from this and it’s really intense in their mind when it hits.) Not sure why he took three vets there hostage but i’m glad they aren’t reporting.
There are three sets of hostage negotiators on the scene...in it for the long haul to hopefully bring the guy out and no one hurt.
Fewer than nine unarmed state public safety officers work at the Yountville Veterans Home in Napa County, where a man armed with a rifle exchanged gunfire with police and took three employees of a veterans counseling program hostage."

The three hostages are all trained mental health professionals too. I just read that there are also 40 employees who are sheltering in place with law enforcement personnel in a room adjoining where the hostages are being held. That must mean there’s no safe exit for those 40 people either? Still reading that negotiators haven’t been able to make contact with the gunman or the hostages.
Prayers for the safety of everyone involved.
I’m going to pray right here....so if folks aren’t the praying type scroll on please.....
Lord God,
We come to you with this veteran and all those surrounding him and this happening....we ask that you give those speaking to him and with him your wisdom, understanding and the tools to bring him safely to his senses. Keep those trying to help steady and in perfect timing to your will and purposes in this...and bring all safely out of this situation very soon.
We thank you that you are no stranger to those in distress...and that of mind as well as heart...’Be’ for all what they need now and throughout this time until it passes.
In your name,
Amen.
Amen. Thank you for posting your prayer.
