Scary map shows parts of SF Bay Area to be destroyed by global warming

The 1970s were a great time for disaster movies. There was Earthquake with Charlton Heston, Towering Inferno with Steve McQueen, the Poseidon Adventure, and many more.

By the 1990s, disaster movies had taken on a distinctly sci-fi element, such as the movie Armageddon, which highlighted the twin disasters of an asteroid striking the Earth and a plan to send Ben Affleck into space.

That's where we are today, except our science fiction is being portrayed as science fact by liberals who want to scare us with the global warming bogeyman. In their latest attempt, they have produced a map showing which parts of the San Francisco Bay Area will be plunged underwater by 2100 due to global warming:

Global wRming is s lie. There is no global warming. The NOAA was recently exposed as “cooking the books” by leaving out data in the north east US of record and prolonged cold this year!! Heat monitors are placed over black top to destroy the real measurements. The purpose is to tax you and get your stuff and give it to communist parasites. It is based on false data and should be ignored completely and removed from schools an an establishment of religeon .

I fail to understand why there isn’t an orange band around the entire coast line? Is the ocean only going to rise in certain areas???

Apparently, different sections of the "coast" have different elevations. Lower elevations will succumb to the rising seas, and higher elevations, not quite.

For liberals, "the sky is falling, the sky is falling' is the extent of their 'cards' outside of race cards, sexist cards, and victim cards. They are soooooooo boring.

It’s funny to me, as a native, that people posting here and elsewhere love to flame on SF, are always on about people leaving CA, how crappy the quality of life is, yet if the free market means anything at all the high prices mean PEOPLE WITH MONEY WANT TO LIVE HERE. That means by definition it is highly valued:-)

Quite frankly, I haven’t seen many posts relating to California demographics on FR that aren’t both insanely ignorant and logically tortured. It’s not the illegals, it’s not the homeless (to hell with both, personally), it’s the people with money from around the rest of the world. I have no problem with any of my newer Italian or Chinese neighbors; if they can plunk down $750K for a 1200 square foot 2bd 1ba on a 1/10th acre lot, God Bless them and the USA; this tells me more about how rational people see this area than mouth breathing comments about ‘commiefornia’ or such; the opinions of people who don’t live here mean as much to me as Mother Jones opining on Donald Trump- good for a laugh.

I now live 60 miles north, in the wine country; the house my parents bought for $17.5K is now worth about $600K; go ahead, let people without a clue rant about how bad it is here, but any freepers who want to drop by might get dragged out to the countryside for some wine tasting.

Not that I think CA couldn’t lose 10 million people and be better, but then the planet could do with about 4 billion fewer humans in my opinion (but then I’m highly misanthropic).

I can see some different possible causes for this, but not one could be blamed on anthropogenic climate change,so going about changing it by the usual stupid methods won’t help.

My initial reaction: what’s taking so damn long?

Anyway, EPA should issue an order prohibiting sea level rise because of its effect on groundwater quality. Just post the notice high enough on a light pole to keep it above the new water level.

I was born in California, and I still love to visit the State, it has the most beautiful scenery in the country, but there’s no way I could live there.

My reply was only incidentally to you, it was more a preemptive broadside against the inevitable California bashing :-)

We lived in San Mateo right after WWII! They built Shore Acres while I lived there. Shore Acres is right next to Foster City, and all of it is below the level of the SF Bay. It was funny that San Mateo had to bring in massive pumps to pump out Shore Acres during the winter. So all of this is nonsense. The Bay tidelands on the west side of the Bay are all already at or below MSL.

Tech companies are packing up and moving to the Austin Texas area.

Employees can’t afford the Bay Area and don’t want the commute from more affordable areas.

You haven’t witnessed explosive growth until you’ve been in Fort Bend County, Bryan/College Station or north Austin.
