Washington (CNN) A crowded Democratic House primary in the Houston area has become a stand-in for the broader battle within the party between progressives who backed Bernie Sanders and members of the establishment.
The controversy erupted more than a week ago, when the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the party's political arm for House races, unleashed a scathing attack against journalist and activist Laura Moser, one of seven candidates in the Texas 7th District Democratic primary to take on Republican Rep. John Culberson this fall.
Now, with two days left before the Texas primary on Tuesday, the infighting has opened wounds within the Democratic Party that never quite healed after the 2016 election, when Sanders supporters accused the Democratic National Committee of tipping the scales in favor of Hillary Clinton.

Uh, oh.
The Democrats are going hard left.
This Rat is the designated loser in this district.
What’s uh, oh?
Laura Moser is a lefty flake. Not much chance of her winning though, so the party tries to deep six her.
Total GOP vote D7 38032 Total Dimwit vote D7 33176.
Good.
Journalist and activist?
Moreso activist and politician. JINO
Laura Moser came in second to Lizzie Fltcher. They face off in a runoff vote. The two Republicans got almost 5,000 more votes than then all of the seven dems. The seat is probably leaning Republican.
I would never vote for someone named Lizzie in a federal election.
I think it is time for conservatives in states where the conservative republicans are safe in the primary to start crossing over to vote in demwit primaries to nominate the worse possible dem candidates. I know they do it to us so I think it would be fair play to do it to them for a change.
The DNCC didn't want Moser at all yet she won. Now what? Will they continue attempting to destroy her? Withold all funding? They seem to be stuck.
Uh, oh.
The DNCC will have another crack at her? Oh, snap!
Texas District 7 of the United States House of Representatives is a Congressional district that serves a small area of western Harris County. As of the 2000 census, District 7 comprises 651,620 people.
One of the wealthiest districts in the state, District 7 includes several upscale areas of western Houston, wealthy enclaves of Houston, ten incorporated suburbs, and large areas of unincorporated suburbs.
The district was one of the state’s first to elect a Republican to office. It has not elected a Democrat to office since 1967, before districts of equal population were required. Republican John Culberson has represented the district since 2001.
Since 1967 three republicans have served this district, George HW Busy from 67 to 71, Bill Archer from 71 to 2001 and John Culberson since 2001.
It appears to be the same area which has probably gotten smaller due to growth.
Wow, this chick is as tone deaf as Debbie Wassername. Hope she wins the primary.
I love how CNN accuses the DNC of “tipping the scales” for Hillary. Tipping the scales? The DNC knocked the scales over and raped her for Hillary while squeezing her blindfold. The Berniebots haven’t forgotten it either.
A hard leftist and a leftist will be fighting to see who’ll lose. Dems, going hard left is not going to endear Americans.
I’ve seen these ads by Lizzie Fletcher and they make me sick!! I thought Cecile Richards was rabid about killing as many unborn as possible but this gal is a piece of work. Bragging how they joined arms to keep an abortion clinic open and how she needs votes to stop Donald Trump from taking rights away from women. Demonic is what her and her ilk are.
