PRAYER FOR GOD'S PEOPLE
"Fear the Lord, you holy ones, for nothing is lacking to those who fear the Lord. The mighty will grow poor and hungry; but those who seek the Lord will never go wanting." (Psalm 34). Mighty God, Creator of the Cosmos, you have entrusted to us the care of this planet. Breathe your loving Spirit into the hearts and minds of us all. Instruct us in your ways. And most of all, enable us to establish justice and peace in our homes, our work sites, our nation, and this world. You alone are Lord. You alone are the Mighty One. You live and reign forever and ever. Amen.

When God Fills Us
March 4, 2018
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Psalm 16:11
"What had I done?" It should have been one of the most exciting times of my life. Instead, it was one of the loneliest. Id just gotten my first real job after college, in a city hundreds of miles from where I grew up. But the thrill of that big step quickly faded. I had a tiny apartment. No furniture. I didnt know the city. I didnt know anyone. The job was interesting, but the loneliness felt crushing.
One night, I sat at home with my back against the wall. I opened my Bible and stumbled onto Psalm 16, where verse 11 promises God will fill us. Lord, I prayed, I thought this job was the right thing, but I feel so alone. Please fill me with a sense of Your nearness. I offered variants of that plaintive plea for weeks. Some nights, my sense of loneliness eased, and I had a deep experience of Gods presence. Other nights, I still felt achingly isolated.
But as I returned to that verse, anchoring my heart in it night by night, God gradually deepened my faith. I experienced His faithfulness in a way I never had before. And I learned that my job was simply to pour out my heart to Him . . . and humbly await His faithful response, trusting His promise to fill us with His Spirit.
Lord, we can feel so empty at times. But Youve made known the path of life. You long for us to trust You. Help us to cling to Your promise to fill us in our desperate moments.
Anchor your heart in God.
David faced many enemies and encountered numerous dangers. Those experiences proved the faithfulness of God to him. In Psalm 16 David sings of finding his joy and guidance in the Lord alone: I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken (v. 8).
Earlier in Israels story, Moses had pleaded for the presence of God to accompany the people in the wilderness (Exodus 33:1516). God promised to go with them and to give them rest (vv. 14, 17).
We too can find our help in the God of Moses and David. The night before His crucifixion, Jesus promised us the gift of the Holy Spirit. He told His disciples, If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you foreverthe Spirit of truth (John 14:1517). The God of David and Moses is the God who tells us, Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). His Holy Spirit lives in us.
Do you sense His presence today? Give your desperate circumstances to Him. He promises to guide you.

A beautiful, sunny 60ish day here, I did a little shopping and a visit to a local gun store to check out their ware.

Dang, y’all are having some NICE weather up there! A good day to get out and about.
Not quite as warm here but still not bad at 55. Nary a cloud in the sky and only a slight breeze. A repeat tomorrow, then rain comes in Monday.
Didn’t do a lot today. Just kicked back and was lazy. LOL

Ye, we enjoyed another dry day with just a breeze. It’s nice not having rain pound on the roof or wind roar outside for a change. LOL
Have your duck buddies begun showing up for supper again?

She wants me to meet her granddaughter and she had to cancel because of work. So we are going to try for next Saturday. It worked out fine as it had already begun to lightly snow before I got home.
The neighbor across the street, who winters in Arizona, met me at the garage. I said, “There is snow and you are here.” He said his oldest died and the service is tomorrow. Seems she had epilepsy, and it looks like she had a seizure, fell and hit her head. Her work called for a welfare check and they found her probably 2 days later. BUT...her phone and car keys are gone, and of course an autopsy and drug panels. The family is quite interested in the results. I told him he could use my driveway for the weekend, which they are doing.
Then the plows came and did a really good job of getting the snow pile in the middle cleaned up and made smaller and taller...the kids will love it!
And my best news of all...I am typing this reply from my own computer!!! I fired up my laptop to load music...when I opened a new tab, the FR home page opened! So I shut my eyes and clicked Pings.....lo and behold, FR WAS BACK!! So I tried my desktop...same results. I’ve been trying every day for 2 weeks and today it worked! WOOHOO!!!

Well let’s hope things work out for next Sat, then. :-) Nice that you’ll get to meet her granddaughter.
How sad for your neighbor, losing his daughter that way! Sure raises a question or two that her car keys and phone are gone, doesn’t it?
Well HOTDAM! Soooooo glad to hear your computer is behaving again! Took long enough! Bet ya did a happy dance or two! LOL

LOTS came up tonight. I tried to look for “evidence”, but new snow has covered anything.

Well good. They were probably ready for a good meal.
Maybe “dinner” was carted off far enough away this time that you won’t see evidence even without the new snow.

He said her boyfriend was kind of sleazy....waiting now for toxicology, etc, reports...a rough time for the family.
It made no sense for FR to be the ONLY website that I could not access, and it makes no sense now that it is working. BUT I AM HAPPY!!!

A terrible time for the family without the questions about the sleazy boyfriend. That a heck of a thing to have to go through. :-(
I gather your computer started working on its own? Or did your computer just recently get around to digging through it to locate the problem?
Gotta be a huge relief to have things working as they should again.

It started all on it’s own....I should have emailed my computer guy 2 weeks ago, but just didn’t have time, and knowing I had the old office computer figured in too.
I ran a couple “find the gremlins and fix it” programs, but nothing. AND FR WAS THE ONLY WEBSITE!! I tried both laptop and desktop every night after work before trudging to the office to access FR.
Tried this morning as I was loading tunes and the website came up. So I tried Pings and lo and behold!!!!
I’ve rebooted 50 times in 2 weeks hoping something was “fixed”....today it happened, because it didn’t work last night.
