The Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Devin Nunes (R-CA), is asking Attorney General Jeff Sessions whether the Justice Department is investigating what appears to be a clear violation of FBI protocols. In a letter sent on Thursday, Nunes laid out the protocols that FBI agents appear to have violated in using the Steele dossier to obtain a surveillance warrant on a Trump campaign member under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
He cited FBI guidelines that officials must follow when requesting FISA warrants, including that Only document and verified information may be used to support FBI applications [FISA] to the court [FISC].
Nunes said in his letter that former and current DOJ and FBI leadership have confirmed to the Committee that unverified information from the Steele dossier comprised an essential part of the FISA applications related to Carter Page.

“How about a promotion to President Nunes?”
I would take it in a heart’s beat. At least he wouldn’t whine about Alex Baldwin or some other pouting girl twitter nonsense.
Since they say part of the “strategy” is Trump & Sessions being so stealthily in control that everything has Trump’s approval (it would have to under their theory), then I hope the American Thinker can explain a couple of things that need some ‘splainin...
*If Trump is puppet mastering his whole Exec Branch, then why did he approve Mueller’s appointment (again, if he’s puppet mastering this would have to be included because NOTHING happens in the Executive Branch without his knowledge)? Because of Mueller, Trump (and Kushner) have had to hire a battery of expensive lawyers to deal with all of the Mueller (and his hired team of Democrat Donors) demands for documents and witnesses - at hugely expensive lawyer fees. Or is this also part of Trumps grand scheme: to burn his own money at thou$ands a day for lawyers he doesn’t need?? After all, if Mueller is a Trump White Hat stealthily working for Trump & Sessions’ Master Plan, why does Trump have all the the expensive lawyers working for him?. So...this money burning is all for the sake of keeping up a smoky-glass concealment??
*Since Devin Nunes pointed out in his letter to Sessions March 1st there are statutes violated in the FISC abuse process, then what are we to make of the fact Rod Rosenstein was actually one of the signers of the last FISC application to extend the existing spy warrant on Trump, and signed right about the exact time Mueller was appointed? If there are cases to be made that those who signed the application to the FISC using the now clearly fake “dossier” defrauded the court and thereby committed crimes (Comey, Lynch, McCabe and Yates), then isn’t Rosenstein also as guilty of the same felonies Nunes points out in his March 1st letter? This is the same Rosenstein whom Sessions cannot praise enough every time he gets in front of a microphone or camera. So, if the American Thinker claims Trump 7 Sessions are executing a plan, then it has to include Mueller’s presence and Rosenstein’s signing off on a court application that was apparently a criminal act. (This explains why Rosenstein was begging Paul Ryan to stop the Nunes memo’s release, citing “grave concerns” over the information in it regarding accuracy).
So yeah, let’s have the tidying up on why Trump and Sessions designed a Master Plan to: hire Mueller, which produced huge legal expenses and possible legal jeopardy for both Trump and his son-in-law; why Trump and Sessions allow Rosenstein to stay in his job when he’s apparently committed a felony; and why Sessions basically tells Nunes to pound sand regarding his March 1st letter - he’ll have the toothless, slowpoke IG take 18 months to look into it and he’ll think about it after that. We must remember: Nunes and other committee chairs are not exactly fans of Rosenstein - who stiffed Congressional subpoenas for documents as long as 8 months, and only turned them over when threatened with contempt of Congress. Was that part of the Trump - Sessions plan too - stiffing the legislative branch from their constitutional authority? I’ll wait...
I’ll bet Trump wishes he’d accepted Sessions offer to resign last spring. The only hope is Trump for himself to appoint a Special Prosecutor.
I see an "October Surprise".
If it was okay for the democrats to do, then it’s okay for Trump to do it too. Now you understand why Sessions has done nothing to prevent Trump from exercising the same “Democrat approved and defended techniques”. I say let Trump take to Twitter and tell the Nation he is resurrecting an Obama Era program that the DNC says was okay to spy on the DNC and his opponent; to revive the IRS techniques... to ring money out of diplomacy.... Then listen to the Trump Speech detailing line by line how the DNC and Obama did things and tell the American people that until it proven otherwise he will do the same. Then instruct the NSA to turn the screws on the Media and make’m report favorable to him;)
Is Trump scared to admit his mistake? I no longer think Sessions is simply ineffectual. I think he may very well part of the Deep State providing cover for the FBI. The man is dangerous and needs to leave.
Sessions is proving a terrible disaster.
1year and zero Hitlery or Obama indictments.
If we are to believe that Jeff Sessions is defending the President against the Seditionists within the Justice Department and Mueller, where is the evidence?
Its kinda like having Barney Fife as AG!..
/////////////////////////////////////////////////
I appreciate the thread but had to call you out on the insult to Barney Fife. I see Barney as someone who would be indicting everyone and his mother (I believe there is an episode where he throws Aunt Bee and a bunch of her friends in jail for some trivial charge) and Andy would come in as the voice of reason.
So I guess my point is that Barney Fife would kick Jeff Sessions a$$!
It may be that the only reason Sessions supported Trump was to get the gig at DOJ to be a bulwark against what Obama et al feared the most after the Trump win.
Nunes needs to address his questions to Rosenstein, the true AG.
I wonder if things ever will settle down in DC again. We pray for it every day — that God will bind Satan and return our country to us. It’s looking like He may have other plans for us, though.
You could be right.......Sessions is NOT UP TO THE WHOLE JOB....something is very FISHY!
Someone mentioned Ron DiSantis as AG last night. I don’t know if he’s a lawyer, or even if an AG needs to be a lawyer. SCOTUS judges don’t have to be attorneys.
Nunes, DiSantis, Gaetz — all would do a good job. Any decisions they made would be deemed unfair by the Rats because the three of them are partisan, though. It’s not possible to find an impartial person.
I love it. I wish Nunes would Tweet a ‘question a day’ to Magoo. Maybe the sheer weight will choke him into action, if not at least AWAKE.
“What in the hell is Sessions doing about anything?.. Its kinda like having Barney Fife as AG!.. “
It’s called low key. Barney Fife had plenty of backbone, but no discretion. He’d have publicly announced his every move. The real news never gets to the television set. Be patient and you’ll see.
Remember when we conservatives hated Special Counsels?
