Actor George Takei of Star Trek fame should be awarded a prize for tweeting the most imbecilic comments about gun control this week.
His tweet about the NRA selling guns is so stupid, its hard not to simply mock him. But, alas, many people believe this insanity, so it must be answered:
George Takei@GeorgeTakei
The NRA sells guns to Americans, then when those guns get used for the purpose for which they were designed, the NRA sells Americans ways to fortify against the effects of those guns. Quite a racket they have going.
And their biggest pitchman is sitting in the White House.

>>Didnt Sulu use a revolver in the episode Shore Leave?
He didnt just use it. In his overacting, he practically made love to it.

I didn’t even read what he said.
Since when did fame become equated with intellect.
Hey, George, give us a lecture on the laws of physics since you know everything.

Consider that in the perfect future society of Roddenberrys Star Trek, where there was no poverty, money or disease and the goal was the peaceful exploration of new worlds, Captain Kirk and his crew were armed to the teeth. While these weapons were not used in conquest, they were constantly used in self defense.

LOL! It’s rampant. Just because you manage to build a huge amount of wealth, doesn’t mean you’re brilliant. We see that daily don’t we?

Barbara Anderson was in one of the better 1st season episodes,
"The Conscience of the King".
I thought she turned in a wonderful performance.
"And this ship... All this power, surging and throbbing yet under control. Are you like that, Captain?"

I forgot about that role.
In the Mannix pilot, she was a bit of a villian.

She might be the last of the Ironside cast.
Seems like the lady who replaced her died a while back.

Years ago I was at a science fiction convention. George Takei was the Guest of Honor. He and I were assigned the same time slot for signing autographs. We sat at the same table. There were never more than four or five people in the line for my autograph. The line for Takei's autograph went out the door and down the hall. Despite the long line of fans, the took time with every one of them, chatting a bit and signing the Convention program or some bit of Star Trek memorabilia. He fully understood that his fans were responsible for his fame. He owed them some appreciation. I was favorably impressed by him.

The picture is definitely captionable. He seems a little overly fascinated with it.

Go suck on one, George, and I don’t mean a gun.
