Alleged school shooter’s mom paid $50K to adopt him from ‘drug addict’

Mom Lynda Cruz paid $50,000 to adopt alleged school shooter Nikolas Cruz from his “drug addict” biological mother when he was just 3 days old, and then dropped another $15,000 on his younger half-brother, Zachary, when she found out the troubled mom was pregnant again, according to a report. “Nik’s biological mother was just a complete screw-up, drug addict and thief,” former friend and neighbor Trish Duvaney told RadarOnline. “I even said to Lynda: ‘You don’t know the mother’s background.’ Both children were born after one-night stands. The birth mother, she didn’t even really know who the two biological fathers were.”

Lynda was about 50 at the time, and she and husband Roger Cruz were struggling to adopt a child because of her relatively advanced age, Duvaney said.

“So she went to a lawyer and did it to where you pay the biological mother’s expenses,” she said. “You’re not directly giving money to the birth mother.”

Lynda ponied up $50,000 to get Nik, now 19, directly from the hospital when he was 3 days old — and another $15,000 to later adopt Zachary, now 18, Radar reported.

Yes I did. What is your point? The State of Florida allows potential adoptive parents to pay for the birth mothers “expenses” and the birth mother can change her mind and keep the money. It happened to my friends, twice. They were out that much. The first BM had the baby weeks before they found out and she kept asking for “expenses”. So you are not actually buying the baby, a mere technicality.

Not at all, but every family has to exercise due diligence in determining what it can handle, and make as sure as humanly possible not to bite off more than they can chew.

The wrong addition to a family can literally destroy it.

Exactly, he never had a chance at being normal. Life would always be a struggle. His brain was already permanently damaged and rewired the wrong way by the time he was 6 months in the womb. It’s a good thing his parents are not around to live through this. Lord have mercy on all their souls.

The article does not say. The arrangement to adopt this child could have been made months prior, probably with a private agency. Their costs were no doubt included in that 50k figure. I know in my friends case, they were paying everything for the BM: rent, utilities, food, gas, you name it they paid it just to get a baby. It took a few tries and they finally did, but they were taken advantage of by 2 BM. Not all states allow for this but Florida does.

sure, I have seen people spend that much on a private adoption for a white baby.

Expenses? Living expenses, and medical expenses, legal expenses can add up quickly.

Did you read the article? She had the second son while incarcerated, not the first. She paid 15k for the second, which sounds like the agency fee.

A very good friend adopted three in that financial strata, and one is in a permanent residential facility, and one has major mental illness. The third is doing alright, but certainly never going to be the PhD that her parents are.

So what exactly do you do with the children until they grow old enough to show you what kind of person they are?

And how do you explain school shooters or criminals in general that grew up in their biological family?

If you are anti-abortion, it seems to follow that you have to be pro-adoption.

He does not meet the criteria for insanity in the state of Florida. He’s a planner and an actor who is calculating and devious. Had he bothered to change his shirt and had a vehicle he could have escaped.

He may have FAS, Autism, OCD, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder Symptom with secondary symptoms, and lower functioning IQ, but he’s not insane.

Aside from him being the poster child for FAS or Drug addiction to scare pregnant women to sobriety, his life is not justified. He should be condemned to death swiftly. Florida’s death row averages 15 years and that means he gets to live twice as long as most of his victims.

You did not adopt children from drug addicted mothers with their own behavioral problems, correct?

I applaud you for you working to advance Western Civ, we as a society need to be truthful about who we choose to integrate, many years from now it will bear fruit or die on the vine.
