Mom Lynda Cruz paid $50,000 to adopt alleged school shooter Nikolas Cruz from his “drug addict” biological mother when he was just 3 days old, and then dropped another $15,000 on his younger half-brother, Zachary, when she found out the troubled mom was pregnant again, according to a report. “Nik’s biological mother was just a complete screw-up, drug addict and thief,” former friend and neighbor Trish Duvaney told RadarOnline. “I even said to Lynda: ‘You don’t know the mother’s background.’ Both children were born after one-night stands. The birth mother, she didn’t even really know who the two biological fathers were.”
Lynda was about 50 at the time, and she and husband Roger Cruz were struggling to adopt a child because of her relatively advanced age, Duvaney said.
“So she went to a lawyer and did it to where you pay the biological mother’s expenses,” she said. “You’re not directly giving money to the birth mother.”
Lynda ponied up $50,000 to get Nik, now 19, directly from the hospital when he was 3 days old — and another $15,000 to later adopt Zachary, now 18, Radar reported.

Are you suggesting people shouldn’t adopt? I’ve known wonderful people who were adopted.
I call BS on that bit of the story. 4 mo old babies don’t crawl, they are just learning to roll over at that age. And should never be left alone with a toddler. A two year old has no concept of danger to himself or another.
If he picked up an infant and then dropped him in a pool that is entirely the fault of the mothers not watching either baby.
Just piling on for her 15 minutes of importance.
If God wants you to be a parent, it’ll happen the “old fashioned way.” If not, then accept it!
Back when your dad was in basic, many states still maintained mental hospitals. That's where his mom would have been placed; perhaps the runt would have never been born. If so, he too would have been institutionalized years earlier.
That's how society used to protect its most vulnerable members.
I wonder how Mr. and Mrs. Cruz came into contact with this drug addict mother?
The lesson to be learned is that you don’t throw your pearls before swine. Rich people need to stop adopting dregs to make themselves feel virtuous...old school virtue signalling.

I adopted four kids each at birth. Not only that, these dregs were not white!
And all of them can spell signaling.
Was I virtue signaling? I don’t think so, we wanted a family and this was a way to have one.
The dregs are in their twenties and thirties now.
The 30 year old is a married financial analyst working on her second child.
The 26 year old just finished 3 years of Missions in a third world country running a school for a special sub population and also spending a year teaching there. She is now finishing up her degree in a STEM.
The 22 year old has been working and has had a job every day since he finished Voc at 18, he has been employed and make about 20 an hour, not bad money here where RNs start at 23. People try to hire him off job sites all the time. Why? He is drug free, hard worker, motivated and intelligent. He also bought his first apartment building last year, which he is managing.
The 20 year old works 60 hours a week in a company which has decided to send her out of state for training to move her up the ladder. Why? Because she is good at her job and committed. Example, one day, on her day off, she drove by one of the company stores and saw that they were slammed, she pulled into the lot, walked in, and started to help out.
Some of my kids come from middle class and working class backgrounds, some do not. Some of the birth mothers were deeply involved with the birth fathers, some were not.
Are they perfect? not by a long shot. Frankly after parenting them I would say biology is a strong predeterminate, but it is not everything.

Adoption prices vary according to supply. If there are more babies than parents, the prices dip dramatically.

What kind of parent lets a 4 month old baby and a 2 year old play close enough to a pool that the 4 month old could fall in, be pushed, or be tossed in before she could stop it?
If the shooter's mom was similarly detached, her kid's problems may have included "spoilage" or "affluenza" .
Kinda makes you think that the FBI was dying to get their Trump malfeasance off the front page, by letting 17 kids die.

And $50,000 is actually not that bad. $100,000.00 was more in line with what it used to be and that was 15 years ago.
