TCMS tradition was broken last year for two very good reasons. That, by default, started a new tradition ~ holding the shoot in the same location! I only fought a little bit to go back to original idea of not going to the same range in consecutive years. The wise ole planning committee feels that the TCMS has found its home.
The TXMS VIII shoot will be held at Hicksville Gun Range, in Gatesville, TX on October 6th, starting at 10:00 a.m. Where once again we can enjoy the range dogs, the owners and lunch provided by our own cook, cpdiii.
I have reserved all of Cherokee Village Resort for October 4 ~ 7, 2018. When calling to make a reservation, mention that you are with the TexasCowboy group. You will have to make a deposit equal to a one night stay.

Howdy, neighbor! Glad to hear that there will be plenty of water in the lake. Just hope it’s dry around there when we go. Not too fond of mud. :)

Me and mine hope to attend this year, but I’m dealing with some pretty hefty health issues, and may not make it. All depends on how my therapy goes.
Some good news -— I just had cataract surgery on my right eye, and can see again. I’m scheduled to get the left eye done week after next. If we do make it, I’ll at least be able to participate in all the festivities.
No ma’am. We don’t want mud or cold for the shoot. But my garden is real happy to be sitting in a little mud today. This is the first day I haven’t needed to turn the hose on something in several weeks. Hoping maybe I’ll even get another round of tomatoes out of this :)
Better Half and I will miss being in the company of many of the best people in this world for another year. Past excuses aside and though those excuses were legitimate this year Better Half and I will be welcoming a new grandchild in early Nov. l realize we could make the celebration but for unmentioned reasons Better Half and I decided no travel 2 months prior to little one’s arrival. Please forgive our absence. Next year every attempt will be made to be in the best company on this planet. Till next year ... nti

A fact that I and all are well aware of, however when the tumble weed comes rolling through, it brings brisket. :)
Question for all: Brisket and chicken as normal, steaks, or Shrimp Creole?
