[history]
David Hogg, a survivor of the Parkland, Florida high school shooting, told Morning Joe on Monday that he thinks Gov. Rick Scott should be held accountable for the failure of three sheriffs deputies to confront the gunman.
Law enforcement sources confirmed to news outlets that three deputies from the Broward County Sheriffs Office remained outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High as the shooter opened fire, eventually killing 17 people.
Hogg, appearing on MSNBCs Morning Joe, said the news is raising concern in his community, before accusing elected officials of attempting the blame the shooting on bureaucracy.
Theyre in charge of them, Hogg said of those elected officials. This is their fault.
They should have been regulating them, he continued. Im not going to allow them to pressure these people because at the end of the day its their fault. These elected officials are the boss of these sheriff personnel and just like the president is the boss of the FBI, Governor Rick Scott is essentially the boss of Scott Israel, the sheriff, and as such he should be held accountable.
He cant just blame this on the bureaucracy and expect to get re-elected. Hogg went on to praise high school football coach Aaron Feis, who died shielding students from the gunman, unlike those cowardly Broward County Sheriff officials.
Sadly, these are a few individuals that did not conduct their job correctly, but I dont think its right that Governor Rick Scott is trying to blame this on the bureaucracy in an effort to get reelected.

"Florida law allows the governor to suspend a municipal officer from duty for malfeasance, misfeasance, neglect of duty, habitual drunkenness, incompetence, or permanent inability to perform official duties."
That's how incoherent Hogg is. The governor would not have been privy to the inner workings of the Broward sheriff's office unless someone told him, and there is no evidence of that that I'm aware of.
As for the police's response on the day of the shootings, an investigation might reveal "malfeasance, misfeasance, neglect of duty" and so forth, but that would be a reason for the governor to suspend the SHERIFF, not for the GOVERNOR to resign. Hogg is repulsive.

If only actual journalists would put in the work - and ask the questions - that you did. Good job. But for the “real” media, it’s a crowd of parrots shouting “NRA NRA NRA!”

"You need to review FL law FRiend, for you are wrong. The governor, with signoff by the AG, can suspend a sheriff . . . "
Nonetheless, is there any evidence that the governor was aware of any incompetence BEFORE the shootings? It seems to me that there is now prima facie evidence to launch an inquiry, but the governor is not a mind reader and probably had no idea of the police's actions leading up to the shooting.
Hogg is saying that the governor is guilty of not firing the sheriff, the same sheriff who Hogg says did nothing wrong. Or something.

Hogg: They [the governor] should have been regulating them [the sheriff/police],
So, the governor is supposed to read every police report that is filed, from every jurisdiction, and determine if it was handled properly? Had the governor received any complaints about incompetence or negligence in the Broward sheriff's office? If so, did any of those complaints relate to Cruz specifically? I have seen no such reports.
To: Charles Martel
No, there is not such a provision.
There is a provision in Florida's Constitution that allows the governor to suspend an elected official. Nothing in that state's constitution or laws allows the governor to "fire" an elected official. The suspended official has the right to due process prior to being permanently removed from office.

David Hogg is like a BLM or Occupy “leader”. Just a young misguided Leftist activist, we’ve seen thousands of them. The media will always love them and provide free press.
To: savedbygrace
Color me insensitive but how are they defining “survivor”? That scope seems to get broader and broader. Next thing you know the cashier at the fast food place where Cruz was eating will be a “survivor”.

Has this little punk demanded that local and federal law enforcement be held accountable for all the balls they dropped on this shooter? Not only is the answer to my previous question a resounding "No", but now he's gone so far as to defend them.

I think the whimp Governor might be an enabler for not calling out the Dems for using these kids.
I m sick of the unwillingness of politicians to let this crap go on.
Therere kids for crying out loud, they do not have fully developed minds or their maturity in their emotions yet. (unless youre libs whose brains never develop anyway).

Sent it on to Limbaugh and Joe Walsh. With Rush never get an acknowledgement but today his first segment was about this.Don’t know if he covered the Coral Shores PD moving in because that’s an important point to cover but he did cover part of it. That’s the arrangement BCSD had with that school.

The newest rendition of James Dean. Of course, this one has a reason to be a rebel...he’s just lashing out at the wrong “villain”. He’s an angst filled teenager, caught in the midst of an horrific tragedy. The REAL crime, is instead of being apprised of the truth, this kid is being made a hero so he can be used by evil leftists. His worthless parents are have inculcated him with their hateful liberalism, encouraging him in it, and praising him for it. Too bad he doesn’t have a righteous cause to trumpet; he’d be good at it. His parents, and the MSM, among others, have a lot to answer for.
