David Hogg, a survivor of the Parkland, Florida high school shooting, told Morning Joe on Monday that he thinks Gov. Rick Scott should be “held accountable” for the failure of three sheriff’s deputies to confront the gunman.
Law enforcement sources confirmed to news outlets that three deputies from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office remained outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High as the shooter opened fire, eventually killing 17 people.
Hogg, appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, said the news is “raising concern” in his community, before accusing elected officials of attempting the blame the shooting on “bureaucracy.”
“They’re in charge of them,” Hogg said of those elected officials. “This is their fault.”
“They should have been regulating them,” he continued. “I’m not going to allow them to pressure these people because at the end of the day it’s their fault. These elected officials are the boss of these sheriff personnel and just like the president is the boss of the FBI, Governor Rick Scott is essentially the boss of Scott Israel, the sheriff, and as such he should be held accountable.
“He can’t just blame this on the bureaucracy and expect to get re-elected.” Hogg went on to praise high school football coach Aaron Feis, who died shielding students from the gunman, “unlike those cowardly Broward County Sheriff officials.”
“Sadly, these are a few individuals that did not conduct their job correctly, but I don’t think it’s right that Governor Rick Scott is trying to blame this on the bureaucracy in an effort to get reelected.”
The FL can not just remove an elected county official .

Broward County, Florida. the home of Criminal, Democrat, Congresswoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz & her adoring Democrat, Sheriff, Scott Israel (What an insult to the great nation of Israel). The voters in Broward County are far from the sharpest knife in the drawer. Dumb, Dumber, Dumbest....this Sheriff and his police carry a heavy responsibility for the death of seventeen innocents.

Basically, this little commie’s argument is that Scott didn’t ban guns a long time ago. So it’s Rick Scott’s fault that the Coward County shooter was able to get a gun.

Gov. Scott called on FBI Director Wray to resign when it became known that the FBI dropped the ball on two tips. I think Governor Scott needs to be consistent and relieve the sheriff which is in his (Gov. Scott’s) power to do. IMHO, it reflects poorly on the governor that he hasn’t done so already.

Re. three other deputies on campus. Why would they lie, why wouldn’t they be honest. “If they were there and didn’t want people to know they were there that could have been it.”
Even at 68 years old, I’d be only too happy to take this little $hit out behind the schoolhouse and teach him some manners and virtues that his parents obviously didn’t. That would ‘make my day!’
I will amend my statement to say the governor effectively has no control whatsoever over how a sheriff runs his own department.
The bottom line is, the governor is not responsible for the behavior of this sheriff or his deputies, and the actions being called for by young Mr. Hogg run counter to every principle associated with the right of the People to elect their own political representatives and constitutional officers.
