I will be strongly pushing Comprehensive Background Checks with an emphasis on Mental Health. Raise age to 21 and end sale of Bump Stocks! Congress is in a mood to finally do something on this issue - I hope!

Trump is spending a little too much time trying to please the media instead of valuing the millions of law abiding gun owners and their constitutional rights. I don’t care about what the media thinks, I care about the 2nd amendment and the over 100 million gun owners who value it.
It’s also nice to note: Obama would have just said “I am going to do this” while Trump says he “strongly push for this to happen”
Trump understands how a President is supposed to operate. Obama thought the whole country was simcity with him at the keyboard.
The function of bumpstocks can be replicated by simply holding a semi-auto rifle loosely. The reason ATF didn’t ban them before is because there is no basis in law to do so. It will be very difficult to write a law banning them without making semi-auto rifles illegal.

Age limit doesn’t apply to other guns.
What? The tried that in the 1994 AW Ban, by banning guns by name, then realizing AR-15 is not just a rifle (Colt), but a rifle type, made by many other makers under different model names. So, they had to pick “defining characteristics.”
Like what, 10-22’s, or just centerfire guns? Maybe 18 year-old school shooters will go retro and buy pump shotties for their rampage.
Don't ban automatic weapons... ban the FBI.

HIPPA laws prevent almost all communication between a healthcare provider and the courts. We also have a problem where the medical diagnosis for mental incompetence and danger to society is far broader than the legal definition, which allows far too many mentally ill people to purchase guns.
Honestly, I don’t think an 18 yr old should be able to buy a semi automatic weapon.

Docs already ask if you have weapons.
Doesn’t say you can’t own one, it says you can’t buy one. In Florida the law is you can’t buy a handgun until you are 21 but you can buy an AR15 at 18.
