I won't flame you. I can understand your concerns. I feel similarly about the youth voting. But this is a slippery slope. Pick an age, any age you want, and use it consistently as the age of consent, the voting age, the military recruitment age, the firearm possession age, the off-dad's-insurance age, etc, etc, etc and I could support it. But this "feel good" legislating is just the slippery slope to gun(owner) control and the end of the 2nd Amendment. Did we have this problem before Bush signed the Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990? I don't think we did. I think there are many common sense measures to try before eroding our Constitutional freedoms. For instance, how about we let school staff defend themselves and the children entrusted to their care once again? That would be a good start.
