The obsession with the NRA. Plenty of gun owners who are not NRA.
Because they have the guns?
I’ve been an NRA member for many years as it is the strongest lobby to keep the Second Amendment as written to protect my natural right to buy, own and use firearms. I am a law-abiding citizen, family man, tax paying person. The NRA is made up by many thousands of people like me who vote to keep our gun rights.
The NRA wins because they know more about firearm safety than any other civilian organization in America!
i will stand with the NRA, against those that will try to disarm me.
Its all Rush’s fault!
The NRA is a true grass roots organization unlike any number of Soros astro turf ones where he pays people to protest.
I’m a huge supporter of the idea of an NRA.
The NRA, not so much...
I know they do some good things, but they don’t live up to the hype, and on the fringes they capitulate.
This means the Leftists make inroads constantly.
It’s sort of like the Left trashing Republicans for being Conservative, when we know a good many Republicans are not Conservatives.
Bush, McCain, and others are trashed for being Conservative. Enough said on that point.
When I see the NRA trashed by the Left, it causes me to realize they are only adding to the aura of an organization they know will cave on issues over time.
Many folks like the NRA based on that one idea alone, the Leftists pretend to hate it.
There are a lot of people who want gun control, but most are only lukewarm in their desire. Meanwhile, gun owners are MUCH more likely to vote based on gun positions.
Tell Politico to blame it on Freerepublic!
Everything is Jim Robinson’s fault!
For every NRA member, there is probably 15 to 18 non-members who are pro-gun voters and gun owners.
They aren't. They're a synthetic focus for media hatred, and that's all. They can't elect anybody, but people who agree with them can and do.
And that's what's amusing about this persistent media trope - sure, eliminate the NRA and the rest will fall into place, right? Not even close. Five million NRA members, a hundred million gun owners. You can start a war on the former but it's the latter who you'll have to fight.
