@MittRomney has announced he is running for the Senate from the wonderful State of Utah. He will make a great Senator and worthy successor to @OrrinHatch, and has my full support and endorsement! 9:21 PM - 19 Feb 2018
He’s doing this for reasons we’ll find out, later.
Hopefully to publicly humiliate Willard in some Trump-esque like way!
He should start calling him, ‘Mittens’ right away, though, LOL!
The loss of the Senate seat in Alabama was Trump’s fault only in that he chose Sessions as Attorney General, which created the vacancy. Picking Sessions is probably his biggest mistake so far—if he had selected someone who did not feel obligated to recuse himself, then Rosenstein would not have been in a position to pick Mueller to lead a witch hunt against Trump.
My thoughts exactly. Romney is a sure thing, so opposing him is not productive no matter how much you despise him, and I guess a RINO GOP is better than a dem; at least you can count on an anti-abortion vote and probably a vote to replace the coming SCOTUS vacancies.
Given that Romney's election is pretty much inevitable, I think Trump is playing it smart. If the Republicans hold both houses in the November 2018 elections, maybe the NeverTrumpers will finally decide to bury the hatchet for their own good. Flake will be gone, Corker will be gone, and McCain will probably have gone to his reward by then.
Sad?
*ducks*
He has no choice . . . Mormons will not vote for any other candidate but the bishop . . .
It’s likely that when Romney and, later, Petraeus met with Trump that Sec State nominations were not discussed.
It’s much more likely that FISA was discussed.
Think 2012.
Did you agree with Trump or Bannon about Moore?
Exactly. Given that, this is the best thing Trump can do for future political influence on what Mitt does once hes in the Senate. Trump is no dummy, and theres no point in making a statement and making an enemy by doing so.
They both endorsed Moore.
This isn't such a departure for Trump - after all, he did support Luther Strange over Roy Moore in the Alabama primary. My guess is that Trump is now even more reluctant to back an anti-establishment primary challengers because of the whole Roy Moore fiasco in Alabama.
I dislike Romney so I'm not happy about this either, but chances are we'd get stuck with Romney in the Senate regardless. Alternatively, if by some miracle he lost the primary to a more controversial conservative, there's always a risk of a Democrat winning what ought to be a solid GOP seat.
Mr. Trump went to a studio and RECORDED that fable and released it to his adoring fans during the campaign as I remember. He knows what Mitt is. He knows him very well. In fact, if he said Mitt! Drop down on your knees, he’d drop down on his knees.
Surely you know Trump did not initially endorse Moore.
For the sake of politics it’s the smart move.
Mitt being Mitt, he probably won’t reciprocate with an endorsement when Trump runs for re-election in 2020.
Trump is neutralizing Romney
Trump endorsed Romney - Romney thanked him and accepted his endorsement - Romney is now a Trump candidate.
democRats & media will target and go after every Trump Candidate.
This is the very verse I pray over the President!!!
I get your angle....Romney has been quite nasty to and about Trump. Trump endorses Romney which means that Romney has to answer questions about how he feels about being endorsed by a man whose politics Romney had totally despised previously and publically!
You hit the ten ring!
Mitt, you'll never be President. Not even President Pro Tempore!
