Liberals love to fantasize about confiscating every gun in America. It may be their most beautiful dream. Liberals get control of the Supreme Court and ignore the Second Amendment; Washington makes gun ownership illegal; almost all the guns come pouring in or are destroyed; a few hapless Jim Bobs who won’t get in line get shot up by the cops and then the government is free to do anything it wants and if people don’t like it, well, what are they going to do about it without guns?
Let me suggest a less happy, but probably more accurate version of how an attempt at gun confiscation would likely go. Liberals get control of the Supreme Court and ignore the Second Amendment followed by Washington making gun ownership illegal. So far, so good, right? Then the vast majority of police departments across the country refuse to do more than accept weapons that are turned in and, of course, very few citizens actually hand over their weapons. At this point, D.C. would have no choice other than to accept that gun confiscation is impossible, which would be the most likely outcome.
Who will be the first to try?
No “could” about it.

Only criminals and tyrants fear firearms in the hands of law abiding citizens.

They don't care. Win or lose, a CWII would weaken America, and that is always one of their highest priorities... and there is a chance they could walk away with the leadership of the nation at the end of it all. War is cruel and unpredictable.

That’s all fine and dandy, but what I posted earlier on a related thread still stands. Circumstances can change.
Leftists always count on the military and police to be their henchmen for disarmament when the time for it finally arrives.
We used to laugh at that thought. Sadly, as our Post-Christian nation ages and those who have good moral consciences retire or die off - they are being replaced by those who are soulless, guiltless, maniacal, and downright evil (you may refer to them as Millennials).
It’s eventually going to happen unfortunately. We’ve all seen a handful of blowhard cops/military bark over the years how they’d love to confiscate the weapons of conservatives & “patriots”. Give it a few years cause if you’ve laid eyes on the new recruits that are filling the shoes of your soon to be retired friendly neighborhood patrolmen or police like I have, then you’ll know it’s only a matter of time before they’ll gladly take these orders.
