As scores lay injured in Florida hospitals after the Orlando shooting, potential donors inundated blood banks, offering what they could. For some, however, the hourslong wait ended in disappointment. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has strict guidelines about who can donate blood; among those restricted are people who have had certain diseases, those who have traveled to certain countries and men who have slept with men, or as the FDA refers to them, MSM, within the past year.

MSM = Men Sleeping with Men = Main Stream Media
I wouldn’t call a restroom quickie “men sleeping with men”.
Insanity! A solution to a problem that doesnt exist. Let them donate so they feel better about themselves seems to be the rationale. They are sick in more ways than one. I am tired of them demanding acquiescence and participation in their delusions its getting dangerous.
For some, however, the hourslong wait ended in disappointment. The virus bags are disappointed! We can’t have that, can we?
I am reminded of the Ryan White story. The leftists and the people supporting the risky gay lifestyle made him their champion of gay rights.
HOWEVER! No one ever asked the question — why and how he got the disease that eventually killed him. It was mostly likely spread as an STD or tainted blood from a drug addict.
Bottom line: Gays or drug addicts killed Ryan White!
Side note: I feel sorry for the Gay males, prostitutes, etc. who also died from AIDS. However, they chose that risky lifestyle — RYAN WHITE DID NOT!
They got it right!................
The complaint by these deviants is that their “sex” isn’t treated the same as normal man-woman sex when it comes to qualification to donate blood to a vulnerable recipient population. They bring up the Orlando sex-club shooting as an example. But they STILL wouldn’t approve of behavior-based deferral of donations, based on their overwhelming standard of behavior.
How many would-be donors after the Orlando shooting could affirm that they didn’t have risky “sex” within 10 days of donating? (the undetectable occult period of viral infection.) Then THAT would have been their complaint.
I other words, their argument is wholly ANTI-science.
Well you sound kinda gay with that comment.
They have a hard time being comparable when only hookers compare to their level of promiscuity.
As someone not allowed to donate (risk of CJD from living in Europe), I found this article slightly more responsible than most...
What “Orlando sex club shooting” are you imagining?
As a hemophiliac, he became infected with HIV from a contaminated blood treatment It was well know at the time.
Why can’t they donate and then LATER screen the blood and discard it if anything is found wrong?
Of course, a blood donation is often the way they find OUT they tested positive....
Interesting, isn’t it, how HIV/AIDS is now swept under the rug, while “gun violence” is the mantra?
Stats (which I suspect are greatly understated) show at least 80,000 NEW HIV cases a year. 80% of which are MSM, and 80% of those are homosexuals under 30..
So where is the “outrage” from the Dims, Hollyweirders, media ‘experts” et al on this?
Oh wait, that’s right “It’s just another ‘lifestyle’”
So their "gay pride" beat out their desire to donate - they could have lied about the fact that they've had homosexual relations in the last year.
I am, frankly, glad of that. Emergency medicine is bad enough without the added risk of HIV from tainted blood.
The test is not 100%. What percentage of failure is acceptable?
WSMSM.... Woman Sleeping with Men Sleeping with Men.
I.E... If you are engaged in unsafe sexual behaviors of any sort... Do not give blood. And those sort of people always answer questionnaires with complete honesty.
