A group of open borders activists blocked and surrounded federal immigration officials in downtown Los Angeles, California on Thursday, preventing the agents from accessing a nearby detention center.
Coordinated by a slew of open borders groups, about 50 illegal immigrant activists stopped a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) van of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents while they were on their way to a detention center.

I doubt that this will happen again. Next time around, ICE will have enough muscle to carry out their mission. I just hope that if there are 50 “illegal activists” there next time, they are all taken into custody and deported.
And, they were not arrested?
WHY?
Since they’re already on the freeway, ICE could just do a “snag and drag” to Mexico. Road rash? Put some dirt on it!
“This is an act of war by foreign nationals. Start shooting them.”
Unfortunately, they are not in uniform, so you can’t shoot them unless they assault ICE. Then, all bets are off.
“Give them a whiff of grapeshot.”
Nah, just gas them, arrest them, and throw them in a truck with a cage. Then proceed to Tijuana and drop them off .
blocking movement, delaying peace officers from their duties are both illegal The former is kidnapping.
Excellent post!
Mexico has done far more to interfere with our country than any other.
Both Bush Presidents did their best to turn US into North Mexico.
Suppressing fire!
Isn’t George Soros breaking laws? Why can’t he be arrested?
The only ones who want a confrontation here are the activists. Gives them publicity. Send in the troops and that's what they'll get. Makes the government look strong-armed.
The government doesn't want to start a fight. They're not good at doing that on civilian soil. They just want the illegals.
Best way to handle it is to just move on to other employers or detention centers and come back to this one later when the protestors are napping.
There are plenty of illegal alien fish to fry in LA for the ICE folks to roundup without starting an "incident" á la Waco, Ruby Ridge or the Bundy standoff.
I’m not sure where you’re going with that.
I meant my comment as tongue in cheek. Thus the little winky-face at the end. I think you got that.

But you bring up some interesting history. It’s been done before. NY Draft Riots (1863). Lincoln deployed Federal troops to put down riots over Civil War draft rules:

More interestingly, the founder of the New York Times, Henry Raymond, had Gatling guns installed at the entrances to his newspaper. When the rioters showed up, Raymond manned one of the guns himself to repel the crowds.
Can you imagine the Senior Editor/owner of the NY Times today manning a machine gun in the Times lobby to fight off antifa or occupy rioters?!? Great Fun!
How times have changed.
(I wonder what ever happened to those Gatlings. Still in the basement perhaps?)
Oh, and the Guard should have been deployed to Chicago years ago when the city became more dangerous than Baghdad.
FReegards,
Kit
Yes. And we are on the cusp also. This will not be pretty.
So looking weak and ineffectual is the answer? Deportation is a court order, DHS is responsible to carry out the order. Let a citizen ignore a court or actively interfere in a law enforcement action and there would be NO worry about the police looking strongarmed, they will be against citizens. This weak mary response will embolden illegals, wait till the next event and see.
Sounds like a job for US Marshalls
That’s just my favorite story about why it is so dangerous to have actual federal soldiers instead of national guard inside the country.
It came to mind with illegal aliens protesting in the US. What would happen if they were Russians?
Obstruction of Justice!
Where is Weasel Mueller?
Is this what Lindsay Grahamnesty and others refer to as “coming out of the shadows”?
Stopping or interfering with officers performing their duty must be illegal.
They know the local cops won’t back up ICE / DHS.
