The Schumer-Rounds-Collins immigration bill would be a total catastrophe. @DHSgov says it would be the end of immigration enforcement in America. It creates a giant amnesty (including for dangerous criminals), doesnt build the wall, expands chain migration, keeps the visa...
lottery, continues deadly catch-and-release, and bars enforcement even for FUTURE illegal immigrants. Voting for this amendment would be a vote AGAINST law enforcement, and a vote FOR open borders. If Dems are actually serious about DACA, they should support the Grassley bill!
Deport the DACA caca and raise private money for the wall.
Better. Tell them we take them at their word that phased implementation will work. So we’ll do all the border protecting things first, and THEN we’ll work on making the dreamers legal. And since Dems believe in having trust in the other side, they should have no problem with that approach.
If Trump keeps up issue oriented tweets like this, he’ll be on his way to re-election.
We are in now hurry.
We can wait and check on the political landscape in 2019.
Yawn.
NO hurry.
The Dems are playing games. They are not the least bit serious about doing anything constructive.
I know, but it’s still troubling they are that close to 60 votes. All those RINOS.
Good Job PDT....he just set up the Redumblicans and any “moderate” Rats that bought on to this POS Bill. If their running in 2018.....good luck.
It would never pass the house. And Trump would veto.
Thankfully Flake is out this year. I’m so embarrassed he’s my senator!
I’m fully aware of that. My point is we have a lot of Republicans that are not representing their constituents or the President’s agenda.
Tick tock .... DACA clock is running out
From your keyboard via Trump Tweets to the Big Guy in the Sky.
No worries. The Senate couldn’t pass a single one of the immigration bills today.
DACA, as Trump said, will not be extended.
So basically the Ds in the Senate killed “immigration reform” rather than build Trump’s wall.

Next challenge is to get the judiciary out of legislating

BWAHAHAHAHahahahahhaha. Congress? Utilizing its proper authority and powers to reign in those running roughshod over the Constitution?
I can’t even BEGIN to noodle when the last time THAT happened.
Govt: One big ol’ circle-jerk of, “Who? Me?!”
I seem to recall that many years ago, Congress did pass a law to build the wall. It was never fully funded. Anyone else remember this?

He seems to have perfected the technique once referred to as “rope-a-dope”...

That’s presuming the DOPES aren’t the electorate, willing to (re)pull their lever in the voting booth.
Unfort., based on History, I don’t have that kind of blind-faith in hope...Guess we’ll see, later this year.
Maybe I haven’t been keeping up, but why can’t we grant the dreamers the right to stay here and require that they apply for citizenship like everyone else.
A son in law, a Canadian married to my daughter, was years into the long process of becoming an American citizen when he missed a minor step in the process and was set back by several years.
For me, the solution is simple. Let the DACA illegal immigrants who haven’t committed major crimes stay, but without any path to citizenship or voting rights. No citizenship, ever, for those who come here illegally. Very simple.
Wow! Susan Collins is as big a traitor as McCain.
