I used to think that E-Verify was vitally needed to fix the problem.

It wasn’t this article, or Ron Paul that convinced me otherwise.

I got to thinking, how would the biblical “Mark” that we will someday not be able to buy or sell without, actually work?

I’m beginning to suspect that E-Verify is how, and it won’t stop anywhere near where most of us would want it to.

We might be better advised to concentrate on law enforcement, border control, and welfare / government handout reform.

Open border globalists absolutely LOVE your way of thinking. That thinking will help us die as a people, as a Republic and as a civilization.

Yeah, if the government controls us, they might ruin our social order and way of life by .... overrunning us with a third world population? Seriously, how can our masters wreck us faster? They have changed the demographics of this country in half a century. The free market isn’t going to solve the problem. Shut that border down, get the illegals out, then we can theorize about libertarianism. Vast swaths of this country have become sh1tho!es, and it’s been done on purpose. They have to go back, and it will be government that sends them.

Do you want to control illegal immigration or not? We already have an employer mandate to verify a person’s eligibility to work. E-Verify is just supposed to make verification simpler. I know. I had to fill out the I-9 forms & copy passport & visa documents as a payroll clerk. Identification is identification. It is ALL gov’t approved identification.

We’ll never effectively control illegal immigration until we enforce the law at the employer level, and e-Verify is necessary to accomplish that.

And we have a national ID # that’s called a Social Security #. Anyone have one of those?

“E-Verify almost certainly will be used for purposes unrelated to immigration.”

Totally true. Remember the “Patriot Act”.

Besides isn’t it the fedgov’s job to regulate immigration and the borders?

Where the hell do they get off forcing companies to do THEIR job?

Do companies get paid to “e-verify” everyone? Or is this another job they have to do for free for the fedgov?

Given the perversion of FISA, for just one recent example,

This too can be easily perverted to oppress the true citizen.

Nonsense.

You need a system to check on people’s legal status.

Just the pro-illegal alien activists are trying to whip up opposition to a sensible and necessary system.

I thought e verify would contribute to teaching/brain washing Americans to be Government informants against our neighbors like the communist. Every thing needed to locate a person using documents illegally is obtained on the w4 and i9.

I understand his perspective, but it is necessary to ensure that everyone working in America has the residency status that they need to do so.

I have been a skeptic of national identity cards and their equivalents for decades. However, we are facing a tenacious and malignant form of evil. If we cannot stop the illegal invasion, America will die. Even if it’s risky, E-Verify is probably worth the risk. We just have to work at putting FedGov back within its constitutional bounds once that system is created.

As a legal immigrant, I think it is suicidal for any country to NOT have a national identification system spelling out the legal status of every citizen and legal resident.

Today we have advanced technology available to run e-verify at a nominal cost. If a much poorer country like India can afford to print 800 MILLION voter cards, it is insane to not require even a driver’s license to vote. The foundation of any democracy depends on integrity of the voting procedures.

The only people who have reason to fear E-Verify are employers hiring illegals or illegals trying to get jobs. E-Verify should be top on list of immigration fix!

E-verify is a method used to enforce immigration laws. Rand Paul is trying to get some attention. You can define and reduce anything into oblivion.

You could apply Paul’s same argument as a reason to not use computers. Or not use computers because of the alleged mark of the beast.

The mark of the beast was a concept in use during the days when John wrote about it. You could not buy or sell until you when down to their “courthouse” and signed allegiance to the emperor, or offered sacrifice to him. The emperor was regarded as divine.

To verify illegals, green cards, students/tourists who are here legally but are illegals if they work, and citizens ... to verify all of this, the natural tendency will be to check the many other government and commercial databases.

That leads to one big database. I work on some of these databases. Inevitably the government has all the info on you. Due to database errors, maybe 1% of the people will be mis-identified. That means 1% of illegals get jobs ... and 1% of citizens or maybe 1 million are blocked from getting jobs. If they can improve the database to 0.5% then that is maybe only 500,000 citizens blocked from getting jobs. No government database is anywhere close to that accurate right now.

Every call for increasing the accuracy of the database is a call for ever more intrusive government accounting of your personal life.

Then consider, we often flip between an Obama and a Trump, back and forth. What is to prevent the next Obama from adding to the rejection list, fir domestic violence people who used a gun, then eventually anyone on the gun list... because they present danger in the workplace.

e-verify is the spring board for every snowflake fantasy.

E-Verify almost certainly will be used for purposes unrelated to immigration. One potential use of E-Verify is to limit the job prospects of anyone whose lifestyle displeases the government. This could include those accused of failing to pay their fair share in taxes, those who homeschool or do not vaccinate their children, or those who own firearms.

Could be, might be, blah blah blah.

So, St. Ron Paul, what is your solution to the gazillions of illegals in the US?

Right because legal people don't have any reason to have the government know their social security number or DL# or passport or green card number, oh except so the freakin illegal aliens that stole their way, stole their jobs and government benefits with their stolen Id's from legal residents of the United States might be denied their stole jobs and hopefully have their thieving asses booted out of the United States.

Really sorry Ronny Paul finds that to be an unacceptable infringement on our rights. Hey, infringement........FRINGE, there old Ron in his nutshell. I wonder where all the Paulistas have done?

The politicians refused to do their duty, and created this problem. Their “solution” is for us to sacrifice our liberty instead of them dealing with the invaders. They want every American in their database, and for us to have to get permission from a bureaucrat in order to work and earn our daily bread. It’s dangerous, and it’s un-American.

For all of those reasons and more, I’ve been warning people about E-Verify for years.
