The Rob Porter domestic abuse scandal is more than just another bout of bad publicity for the White House. It's an actual dilemma that leaves President Donald Trump with no great options, only differing levels of bad choices.
But every sensible choice includes chief of staff John Kelly leaving the White House.
The key is what Kelly knew about the evidence of Porter's domestic abuse record, when he knew it, and what he did about it when he did know it.
That leaves Kelly stepping down quietly and the president not commenting about it as the least bad scenario. It's still not going to look good for a White House staff that seems to be in constant chaos and flux. But the appearance of a White House organization in disarray is still preferable to what comes off as a lack of decency and tolerance for damning evidence of domestic abuse, not to mention serious security lapses.
This is indeed a real scandal for the Trump administration. Real damage has been done and more will come. But what the president does next will determine just how serious that damage will be.

If one waits for a security clearance to be totally completed, There would be no one in the White House to work for Trump except for Obama’s people. The people had to pass an initial National Agency Check, and get an interim clearance based upon passing that, before they began to work. Even though the FBI may have completed their investigation, the clearance still has to go to the final adjudicator’s for granting of a clearance. It is that final decision that was not been apparently made at the time the ‘brew ha ha’ happened. Two months before I retired last fall, the last person I hired got her final TS clearance granted. She had been working for me for nearly two years on an interim TS based upon her initial National Agency and background check.
It is also interesting that one of Porter’s ex-wives endorsed him as qualified to work in the White House, doing his administrative job there. Rush was talking about that at the beginning of his show today.
Nonsense - Kelly is probably the most respected Chief of Staff we have ever had.
She went on to say how mean he was.
Now not for nothing....But wives can be real bi*****. And in some states, you have to say he's mean to get a divorce.
This is indeed a real scandal for the Trump administration.

DO NOT remove kelly on unproven allegations and I want to know if these disgruntled Porter ex wives lied to the FBI? I am speculating that they were contacted in the security check FIRST THING!! I am familiar with security investigations and you go to ex spouses FIRST!! What did they say then? What does the 302 interview report show. Did they lie then or Lie recently. You dont lie to the FBI!!IT is a major felony. If the FBI failed in its responsibility to interview ex wives— heads should roll!!

I read an article yesterday that having WH staff without security clearance is not unusual, pointing out that Clinton had over a hundred without.
Why? Obama never fired Lois Learner, Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch or Hillary Clinton ....the list is just too long.

Every day I get up and watch a bit of "Good Morning America" where they go on and on and on about trivial crap like Porter, and every day I yell at the Television:
"Why aren't you talking about the criminal abuse of power by the Obama administration and the acts for which much of his staff needs to be sent to Prison? Why is this important topic of abuse of power by Obama not the top story being discussed? "
