As weve discussed here previously, a series of trials have been underway in Baltimore, Maryland alleging widespread corruption among members of the citys Gun Trace Task Force. This week, the trial of two detectives associated with that unit, Daniel Hersl and Marcus Taylor, ended in convictions on serious charges which could lead to lengthy prison sentences. The details of the robberies they pulled off and the shocking abuse of police authority were stunning even to those who have seen some of the worst incidents of official corruption. (Baltimore Sun)

What’s stunning about democrat corruption? Like the piano player didn’t know there was a whorehouse upstairs.

The Wire was written/advised by a guy who was a reporter in Baltimore.
So, The Wire imitates real life, in this case.

Impossible. Cops never break the law and should always receive 10,000% of your support. Skepticism at this blind loyalty will mean that you are a criminal sympathizer. I have learned all of these things here at Free Republic over the years.

why not? they’re gonna risk prison anyway if they do their job ... might as well take the same risk and try to get rich while they’re at it ...

The Free Republic I've read since the 90's has been just the opposite. Perhaps you're talking about people wanting the other side of published stories. Unlike people who support things like #MeToo witch hunts, Freepers tend to believe in evidence and justice. Is that it what you disagree with?

“Stun” implies “surprise.” (Another meaning is “knocked partially senseless.”)
I don’t think anything that happens in Baltimore anymore has shock value.

Tried to be in before cop haters, but too late. Don’t you think this is just a slight generalization? How many cops are there in America and how many are crooks? You must have gotten a traffic ticket recently.

The robberies are more like The Shield even though that was filmed in L.A.
