President Trump on Monday rolled out a White House budget that includes deep cuts to some federal agencies, an increase in funding for the Pentagon and $18 billion for a wall on the Mexican border.
It includes proposals to cut deficits by more than $3 trillion over a decade and lower debt levels as a percentage of the gross domestic product, but does not balance by doing away with annual deficits.

“...Having a budget doesn’t mean he has to spend it all...”
Thank you! This should be obvious but the instantaneous President Trump bashers somehow missed it.
Great post.
****If you cut the government by $3 trillion, its gonna affect the economy, taxes and unemployment rate in a very, very big way.****
The flip side of this is that corporate tax rates have been slashed by about 8 percent. This is affecting the economy in a big way as well. Is President Trump trying to reduce government reach into the economy while bolstering corporate influence?
3 Trillion in cuts.
Mark Levin is crapping bricks now.
Check out the 22 agencies and programs President Trump’s budget would eliminate: http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/373441-the-federal-programs-trump-proposes-cutting-in-2019-budget .
My personal favorites are: the Corporation for Public Broadcasting which includes NPR; the Global Climate Change Initiative; the Legal Services Corporation; the National Endowment for the Arts; and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
I hope POTUS INSISTS on cutting EVERY unconstitutional agency and program he can!
Wyoming actually had us beat by a fraction of a percentage point. Yay, Wyoming!!!
Hes toast in the state particularly when Trump comes to campaign for his opponent..
I would very much like to see Trump come out here and support our Republican nominee; if we're at all sane that will be Morrisey. We really need to remove Munchkin; he's a disgrace to the State.
Well, maybe it is the quiet lion that never roared?
My idea?
Kill the VA and put all vets who qualify on Medicare! Would save billions, create competition, give much higher quality and quicker care.....My Idea? Close. sell, and fire all the people who work in the VA. Give vouchers to local care centers for Vets. Sure the prices will go up because of Gov. interference, but the slush OUGHT to go away Or reduce.
Trump always stated that he likes to come in under budget.
Let’s also eliminate the last vestiges of indentured servitude and debtor’s prison known as Child Support Enforcement Units—which never go after the real deadbeats but go for the low hanging fruit of blue collar white guys and send them into impoverishment for 18-24 years.
Because having an unprepared military invites aggression. Peace through strength.
Except that those payrolls are paid for by either taxes or debt. Government produces little.
You say the bill increases spending $400 billion over two years, but what will tax revenues do over those same two years?
GDP is $18.57 trillion
A 3% increase in GDP yields a $557 billion/year increase in GDP, and a proportional increase in tax revenue
That would shift the much of the cost taking care of our vets from the Federal to the States. States with more vets would be impacted more, so this would disproportionally impact Southern (mostly Republican) states.
You must be new. You’re sensible.
Real cuts or cuts in increases?
My friend died in the VA care 20 years ago. Just saying.
A roaring economy will easily absorb millions of laid off government workers.
