US has no evidence of Syrian use of sarin gas, Mattis says

The U.S. has no evidence to confirm reports from aid groups and others that the Syrian government has used the deadly chemical sarin on its citizens, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Friday.

“We have other reports from the battlefield from people who claim it’s been used,” Mattis told reporters at the Pentagon. “We do not have evidence of it.”

He said he was not rebutting the reports.

“We’re looking for evidence of it, since clearly we are dealing with the Assad regime that has used denial and deceit to hide their outlaw actions,” Mattis said.

Syrian President Bashar Assad denies his government has used chemical weapons.

Mattis says it is clear that Assad’s government has weaponized and used chlorine gas in the Syrian civil war.

“We’re even more concerned about the possibility of sarin use,” he said. Sarin is a colorless and tasteless toxin that can cause respiratory failure leading to death.

Now Mattis Admits There Was No Evidence Assad Used Poison Gas on His People

'Mattis offered no temporal qualifications, which means that both the 2017 event in Khan Sheikhoun and the 2013 tragedy in Ghouta are unsolved cases in the eyes of the Defense Department and Defense Intelligence Agency.

Mattis went on to acknowledge that “aid groups and others” had provided evidence and reports but stopped short of naming President Assad as the culprit.'

Why would Assad have used poison gas? It was a sure way to get countries to support the Syrian rebels. We had no business being there, and that gave McCain and his evil cohorts an excuse to intervene.

I remember the original argument that it couldn't have been ISIS because they weren't sophisticated enough to use deadly gases. Then we learned how sophisticated they were.

What are we doing there anyway? Syria is a sovereign nation. Our interference enabled ISIS to run amuck. Assad won and he has allies. We should not be supporting anyone within that territory, now that ISIS is defeated.

All we get is lies from the neo cons to attack sovereign countries. Just lies.

By inference then it was likely a false flag chemical attack, orchestrated by a third party nation, and carried out by ‘moderate’ rebels.

This is a classic example of sloppy and stupid misreporting that undermines the attempt to impart information. Sarin gas is poisonous. Chlorine gas is poisonous. There is a huge difference between the two. they are both deadly let there be no doubt. But anybody can make chlorine gas. Sarin is vastly more difficult.

Since the “White Helmets” are usually on the scene with their fake rescue videos, my money is on Al Nusra/Al Qaeda, aka, Jabhat al-Nusra, & Jabhat Fateh al-Sham with the CW weapons mantra.

I firmly believe these are their false flags attacks, and the UK & US are the biggest propagandists for these false flags.

I remember those “heartbreaking” films looked phony to me. Syria is already a mini WWIII (or a Spanish Civil War) & none of us know why Americans are there.

We are currently engaged in war against Syria 2-10-18. The US is carrying on the same policies as GW and OB. We are attempting to reorder another nations society in our image. We are fighting a proxy war for the Sauds and Israel. Obstensibly we are saving the Kurds, when in fact the truth is not known. Next time someone gets President Trump in front of a microphone, ask him why America and Nato have 12 military bases on Syrian soil. 2 of them right next to Jordan, and 10 close to the Turkish border. This is war and provocation for it.

Someone get back to me when all the hoopla about Hillary, the FBI and corruption actually bears fruit. Sessions was purposely placed at AG to do nothing, this entire “witch hunt” scenario seems pretty well balanced to make sure R’s and D’s are equally hurt and/or helped by the scandal. WHY? To cover for the aggressive nature of our nation, trying to rule the world while pretending to care.

I voted for Trump, I love him just like the rest do when he talks the talk. The trouble is, he doesn’t walk the walk, and likely never will.

Funny how Syria always uses gas at the very moment we need them to.
When Assad was fighting for his life, we put out a red line and say we will send F-18s for top cover for Al Qeida ONLY if they are gassed. Badda bing!! The next day Assad gasses them.
When Syrian forces are making headway against our jihadi rebels, suddenly Assad uses a couple of gas shells so we can bomb his aircraft attacking the jihadis.

Now, one of the manpad missiles we smuggled in to Al Qeida shoots down a Russian jet. And once again, right on cue.... Assad thinks its a great time to use gas.
It’s laughable.

Also, anyone even remotely familiar with the employment and effects of gas is rolling their eyes at these “gas attack” proof videos. People walking around at best who pepper sprayed each other rinsing the “sarin” off with water, etc.

Pure hollywood and propaganda.
