WHAT’S WRONG WITH THAT? That is EXACTLY the way proper management works. It is a poor executive that does the work of his underlings and then expects something new when briefed by his advisers. Why have advisers at all? It also DEFEATS the purpose (of good management) to DELEGATE tasks to others and expect briefings from them so that you can concentrate on your duties and responsibilities.
Didn’t Obama skip his security briefings?
Didn’t Hillary claim she received no classified emails, that she had others visit to read them to her?
Not really, but the aides in the White House say that he is having a tough time reading the 10 page Democratic response to Nunes’ report. I wonder if they put some confusing stuff in it that doesn’t make sense. Trump seems pretty smart to me so I can’t understand why reading is so difficult for him.
I would make them come into my office at 0700 every morning and verbally deliver their report.
That way I could corner them with questions in the moment and discern if anyone is jerking me around.
And no junior officers either.
Head of NSC, JCS, CIA, NSA, FBI.
0700 every stinkin’ mornin’. They will leave their written report when we’re done.
Is that the way Trump made his billions?
A lot of execs prefer an oral briefing.
If he gets an oral briefing he can ask for clarifications and dig deeper than if he just had it on paper. There’s also less chance of misinterpretation.
It would matter to me. Reports and summaries are prepared by staffers. You get a lot more information in a face-to-face oral briefing. For instance, how well the people you rely on actually know what they are doing.
I assume that if Trump is getting a oral report then if he has an immediate question then he gets an immediate answer? And if he read it while alone then getting answers to his questions would take more time?
I was an avid reader until I had cataract surgery (both eyes) in 2007.
I no longer enjoy reading books or magazine articles, computer a bit different and stuff like this site - no matter how long - doesn’t seem to give me a whole lot of problems..
Also my attention span probably isn’t anywhere near it was 10 years ago, I ‘sluff’ it off to age but I am sure much more technical than that.
I was pretty much AMAZED when in 2014 at 75 the State of Virginia renewed my Drivers License for 8 years AND I didn’t leave the computer.
I realize I may be the ‘exception’(HA HA) but even I am surprised no one even wanted to lay an eyeball on me.
From some of the people of my age I have seen, it scares me that the state would do that....I guess having never been charged in an accident and only about 6 tickets 50+ years with the last one in 1997 had something to do with it. (I didn’t include the 2 DUI 1983 & 1990).
Been driving for 60 years and have NEVER used my Auto Insurance.
.
An oral report is vastly superior to a written report.
One can ask questions on the fly to assure full understanding of the info conveyed.
If helpful, a written transcript of the meeting can be made and saved.
I like Trump’s method.
.
So? President Clinton also preferred oral.
You cant question a folder. You CAN question a speaker...
I get it. Fake news reporting of another fake news source based on a fake source.
This gives Pres. Trump the opportunity to ask questions imo.
I prefer watching tutorials and lectures over reading manuals.
Big whoop.
so the eff what? Obama skipped it altogether
Liars. Obama was not briefed at all for weeks at a time, a time when we were fighting wars on two fronts. Go back and check the Daily Signal, Sept. 11, 2012, the day the Benghazi massacre occurred.
