I hit 40 and then couldnt eat national fast food without getting sick.
I do go out to eat, but only at places that are privately owned. Corporate food is awful.
Had that problem start in early 30s.
I am very picky about restaurants.
“I hit 40 and then couldnt eat national fast food without getting sick”
it took us a decade longer to reach that point even though we haven’t eaten fast food for decades. over the last 20 years, commercials, coupons, and nostalgia caused us to try it a again couple of times. One time was Big Macs and one time was Wendy’s bacon cheese burgers. Both times were sickening ... literally. (Even worse was trying some Velveeta we bought at Costco. After one slice we threw the rest away.)
It doesn’t make me sick, but I know that it is not nutritious. And I am picky about the sources of my food. Where do they get their beef or their chicken? I love salmon, but I will not order it in a restaurant unless I know that it is not farmed.
We have a locally owned McD’s in the area, they own at least a dozen stores.
They treat their employees like gold, they have great food, and a great reputation in the community.
Their stores are spotless and I cannot give them a higher recommendation in any area.
And the crazy thing is, FF is more expensive. You can make a small salad, bake a potato (or micro wave in a hurry), cook up some 95% lean hamburger, forget the bun, and have a very hearty, and actually pretty healthy meal, for less money.
But it takes at least an IQ of 100 to understand such basic facts. That leaves 50% of the population consigned to spending more for less, all the while gaining weight and ruining their health. What a deal!
