Former president George W. Bush said he believes Russia meddled in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, departing from President Trump, who has been skeptical of intelligence agencies’ findings that the Kremlin had interfered to help him win.
“There’s pretty clear evidence that the Russians meddled. Whether they affected the outcome is another question,” the 43rd president said at a summit in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. He added: “It’s problematic that a foreign nation is involved in our election system. Our democracy is only as good as people trust the results.”
Bush has been critical of Russia, slamming it for working to “exploit our country’s divisions.”
“The Russian government has made a project of turning Americans against each other,” Bush said during a forum in New York in October.

Lets apply in hindsight the same “clear evidence” standard that you are currently employing.
There is then, by your logic, clear evidence you stole Florida in 2000. There is clear evidence you knew the 911 attacks were imminent and did nothing. There is clear evidence that you lied about WMD in Iraq and soldiers died just so you could get personal revenge on Saddam for threatening your Dad’s life. There is clear evidence you knew the crash of 2007 was coming and did nothing.

Exactly! The entire statement by Bush ignores the question of what even IS “meddling?” Russia meddles in EVERY foreign if that’s the standard. They like getting their POV out there whether it’s through Russia Today, text messages to Ukrainians or bombing the shit out of Syrian rebels some of whom are, let’s face it, Al Qaeda-affiliated.
If we are a country that doesn’t fear free speech why should we fear Russia “meddling” at all if it’s nothing more than running ads on Facebook at Twitter? Doesn’t EVERYONE have the right to pay for an ad as free speech? Hell, by that standard, the Obama Administration “meddled” BIG-TIME in the last Israeli election up to and including sending political operatives over there to help the opposition against Netanyahu.
Bush and the uniparty chose the word “meddling” because it sounds nefarious. It implies something that unduly interfered with the actual process of casting and counting votes. He and Obama KNOW that never happened but it won’t stop them from trying to fool some of the people all of the time... it’s how they both got into office after all.

Everyone on The Left says there is evidence of Russian collusion.
They talk as if this is a well known fact accepted by everyone, but no one has been specific about what this evidence is.
I suspect there is no substantial evidence of Russian collusion. It is a fabrication to add confusion to the bogus Mueller investigation of Trump and the fabrication has been magnified by the echo chamber.
Congress needs an open hearing on this. Bring in everyone who says there was Russian collusion and let”s see the evidence. I am pretty sure there is almost none.

I think it’s entirely likely that all the “Russian” evidence is fabricated from whole cloth by the CIA. It’s no more true than the Spanish sinking the USS Maine, Germans bayoneting Belgian babies, Warren Commission, the Bomber gap, the Missile gap, Gulf of Tonkin, WMDs, the Syrian gas attacks, or Iraqis throwing Kuwaiti babies out of incubators.
