On Wednesday morning, NBC’s Today show and ABC’s Good Morning America recited identical liberal talking points as both broadcasts warned viewers that the U.S. was on the verge of looking like world’s worst “authoritarian regimes” if the Pentagon followed through on President Trump’s desire to hold a military parade in the nation’s capital.
“Some unusual marching orders from President Trump to the Pentagon. He wants a massive parade to highlight the country’s military strength,” fretted Today co-host Hoda Kotb. “But as NBC’s Hans Nichols explains, that request is not sitting well with some lawmakers,” she added.

Did Trump actually say he wanted to do this? If not it is fake news.
“Authoritarian” is when the executive acts beyond the law and avoids oversight of the peoples’ representatives (congress).
Especially when the executive acts are aimed to select the successor rather than allowing citizens to decide.
If NBC and ABC are worried about authoritarian appearances, they should proactice some journalism - show us what did or did not happen in the last election rather than propagandizing for one side (which appears authoritarian)

I’m still hoping for 5,000 and 10,000 National Guard to “sweep” across, starting in, Califonia.

There are so many possible readings. Maybe Donald’s idea is to make a counter statement to North Korea. To warn them of the fact that they couldn’t possibly win, so they don’t get too obstreperous. Understood.

According to some posters the wapo got the info from someone’s 3rd cousin who was on a tour near the white house so, it hasn’t been confirmed yet. ;-)
The Pentagon has confirmed it and I believe the White House has as well.

The Bastille Day parade that Trump watched prominently features French army tanks, vehicles, and weapons. That's what Trump wants.
There may be a parade there may not be a parade but why is this ‘duh the president wants a BIG parade’ coming out now? I say, that’s bait. It’s covfefe. What is he really up to?
