No matter the fate of the central booster, watching those two side boosters land almost in formation made tears come to my eyes. Great work by all involved. Note that there were lots of young engineers in that crowd who were justifiably proud.

They've got a lot of knowledge to build upon, and they are running with it. This nation was created by pioneers, not settlers, and it was a damn shame my generation had to watch as we retreated to low-earth orbit in the '70s.

For which you can that the Democrats, who cut and cut and cut NASA funding for ever more welfare benefits. The shuttle was a clumsy kludge by comparison to what NASA originally wanted built. SpaceX has fulfilled that promise.

Said two out of three engines didn’t ignite. Somehow there wasn’t enough of the special chemicals used to start the engines. I think I heard him say that two engines on the ship were also destroyed.

None of the stages were planned to be used again anyway, so not a big loss. The only thing he wanted back was the titanium grid fins on the side boosters. They are very expensive and take a lot of time to make.

I'm a huge Tesla and Spacex fan, but the way they delayed the news of the fate of the center core was very disappointing. I think Elon did tarnish his reputation of being straight forward with viewers.

Why? It was an experimental flight and he told everybody what happened at the press conference. It’s an incredible success in spite of what happened to the center core. All the SpaceX fans on the Internet seem to be thrilled except for one.

I was in the 6th Grade when they tried to launch the first grapefruit-sized payload on the Vangaurd — in response to Sputnik.

The rocket rose about two feet before it exploded and toppled over.

It doesn’t bother me a bit that, after a successful test launch, SpaceX only recovered two of the three boosters!

SpaceX deserves a big thumbs up!

The most impressive part is those boosters returning to base ass first like 1950s sci-fi rockets, except they're science fact, not science fiction!
