The Republicans have now released the memo containing their version of what is in the controversial FSIA application. Not surprisingly, the Democrats have a different version. It should be easy to decide whose truth is more credible: Let the American public see the application itself instead of second-hand, partisan accounts and let us decide for ourselves.
The problem with that obvious solution is that the application is currently classified. But classification should never be used as it often is for political benefit or to protect agencies or individuals from just criticism. Let a nonpartisan expert decide what must be redacted for genuine security concerns, and let the remainder of the application be released.
We, the American people, have the right to know whether the application deliberately failed to disclose to the FISA court that the so-called Steele dossier was commissioned by political operatives seeking dirt on a political opponent. We are entitled to know how much weight, if any, was given to the dossier in the application.

Alan apparently didn’t read the memo. McCabe stated under oath to Congress that the FISA warrant would have never occurred without the dossier. That is how much weight the dossier had.
But McCabe could have been lying when he said that. Oh, wait...
Dershowitz is also a supporter of Israel which aside from prob. a minority of the Jewish students and what few professing Christians are allowed to “slip by” the Harvard admissions desk, ain’t a popular stance at elite colleges. He knows Trump is the most pro-Israel president since Reagan and that the bulk of congressional Dems aren’t.
Dersh “converted” when Clinton and Obama wouldnt play ball.
Trump got Dersh’s pal Rubaskin the buthcher out of jail (not a pardon just lifted the sentence).
I don’t care what was in the request, they were spying on a Presidential candidate and then President elect the President. There is still no evidence of a crime that would justify any investigation at all, let alone a FISA warrant. Shouldn’t that be addressed first? “We thought” and “we felt” doesn’t count.
I heard him on Fox. He was not pro left or right. He wants the crooks out just like we do.
I’m guessing Dersh is worried about those reports of him at Pedophile Island, and wants to keep on the good side of the current admin.
Release all the FISA documents related to this case. We dont need no stinking summaries.
And they used a Yahoo news report to”independently” verify the dossier, the issue being the source for the news story is the same guy who wrote the dossier.
Unfortunately, thanks to the left and the MSM, there is no such thing as nonpartisan anymore, anywhere.
“Let the American public see the application itself instead of second-hand, partisan accounts and let us decide for ourselves.”
Couldn’t agree more!
“I’ll bet it *kills* Dershowitz to appear on Fox News”
Why? Alan’s a paid commentator for Fo. And besides, he wouldn’t be allowed to tell the truth on any other network.
Alan is an old-style, Kennedy liberal in the original sense of the word “liberal”, and still adheres to those ideals, which now puts Alan way to the right of how the leftist fake stream media attempts to define “center”.
Alan’s conflicted.
He’s sees the commies of his youth descending into outright madness.
Dershowitz’s commentary on releasing the FISA application and letting the American people be the judge is on point.
He points out the need for someone to review the information first and make any necessary redactions.
The big question is who can be trusted to do that in a nonpartisan manner?
Are there any nonpartisans left in the United States?
It is not just a question of should- it is illegal to classify something to hide wrong doing - and that is also grounds to cause it to be unclassified.
Release the actual FISA Court documents-we don’t need no stinking dueling memos.
I’ve seen him on several FNC programs in the recent run-up to the Nunes Memo release. He has seemed friendly, happy to discuss those things, and difficult to tell he has a D beside his name.
