Trumps Says the Memo 'Totally Vindicates' Him, Calls 'Russian Witch Hunt' an 'American Disgrace'
Townhall.com ^ | February 3, 2018 | Timothy Meads

President Donald J. Trump took to Twitter on Saturday morning to address the controversial House Intelligence Committee memo that was released yesterday.  The president claimed that the contents of that memo "totally vindicates 'Trump' in (the Mueller probe)." The 45th commander-in-chief, who has been dogged his entire administration by accusations of improperly being elected to the office of the presidency, called the entire "Russian Witch Hunt" an "American Disgrace."

This memo totally vindicates “Trump” in probe. But the Russian Witch Hunt goes on and on. Their was no Collusion and there was no Obstruction (the word now used because, after one year of looking endlessly and finding NOTHING, collusion is dead). This is an American disgrace!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 3, 2018

This tweet echoes similar comments President Trump told the press yesterday. As noted by Cortney, he said that there are a lot of people who "should be ashamed of themselves" after reading the memo and being briefed by staff. In a statement from White Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, the White House said the document "raises serious concerns about the integrity" at some our nation's most esteemed institutions such as the FBI and the Department of Justice.

Townhall has provided ample coverage of the memo and breaking details, but as Guy noted yesterday, there are several problems - on both sides of the aisle - with the conclusions many are jumping to after its release:

"We need more information in order to determine the credibility of some of the accusations and implied accusations flying around.  Predictably, some political actors are reacting to the GOP memo as if it's a national security risk or even a crime unto itself, which is nonsense.  Others are dubiously citing it as vindication for President Trump, or a strong basis on which to start cleaning house by firing people like Rod Rosenstein and Bob Mueller.  It's nothing of the sort.  In fact, contrary to some of the pre-release hype, Rosenstein was barely mentioned in the memo at all; his name came up virtually exclusively in the context of approving the extended surveillance against Page, which very well could have been an entirely defensible decision by the time he made it (even if one is skeptical of the initial warrant).  I'll leave you with a statement from House Intelligence Committee Republican Trey Gowdy, a former federal prosecutor who has seen reams of relevant evidence that we have not -- and who pushed for the release of this memo, albeit while successfully advocating for a more careful and methodical process than others would reportedly have preferred.  This assessment ought to hold weight:

As I have said repeatedly, I also remain 100 percent confident in Special Counsel Robert Mueller. The contents of this memo do not - in any way - discredit his investigation.— Trey Gowdy (@TGowdySC) February 2, 2018

So, basically, at this point, he can and SHOULD fire Mueller.

The whole “investigation” is based on this phony dossier, that all parties knew was bullsh*t.

I have to say, I think I have a Man Crush on POTUS Trump.

I may not agree with “everything” he does, probably agree with just 99% or so (LOL), but he FIGHTS!

It’s about damn time one of “our” guys gives it better than he gets it. The past two years have been a nice change of pace.

I personally believe that the bigger scandal as relates to the FBI and DOJ is the investigatory and legal gymnastics they went through to clear Hillary on the e mail scandal. They really did not want to know what she did as relates to the server and the bigger scandal of covering up nd hiding documentation from them.
Does it not strike anyone as strange that after she bleach bit her server to wipe e mails that were under subpoena, that she had her blackberries hammered, that she removed the sim cards from the I Phones that were under subpoena before turning them over and that Comey strictly limited the investigation to the e mails and prohibited his minions from expanding the “matter” investigation to the coverup so they could clear her before the election?

Dear President Trump, well.... since you (finally?) realize that the Mueller “witch hunt” is an “American disgrace”....

how about (finally!!!!) terminating it?

if you permit its continuance, you’ll have bought it for your own account.... the disgrace will be Yours

The rats and media think they just need to double down and lie themselves out from under the memo. The bad news for them is there is a formation of truth bombers line up with other revelations and the target has been identified and marked.

No, he should not fire him. I think President Trump is going to be vindicated because of what is coming out now, what will come out from the IG investigation, and there is no way in h3ll Meuller will try for a process crime against POTUS. He will never willingly destroy his reputation like that.

He drug his feet for months after knowing there is no there...there. The most he will be able to do is grab the scalp of some high flying dem.

Exactly. The corrupt Clintons once again behind another scandal. We are truly blessed this witch never got into the WH because she would have been unleashed and the media would have been so far up her ass, this country would be in the toilet.
She started out corrupt as first lady within 24 hrs of her sleezeball husband taking the oath with the Travel Office Firings and using the FBI to gum up charges on long time employees to cover for their firing in order to get her donor flunkies the jobs. She hasn’t stopped since.
This bitch should’ve been in jail a long time ago.

“...He will never willingly destroy his reputation like that...”

He’s a dem apparatchik. He needs to be destroyed as an example to others who misuse the public trust and their office of authority.

“...The most he will be able to do is grab the scalp of some high flying dem....”

You are probably correct.

I’ll never forget that witch saying “You get ME with the deal too...”

I get a very complete satisfaction knowing that she wakes up every knowing she’s NOT president and raging about it.

And you are indeed correct; that bitch should’ve been in jail a long time ago.

It may well turn out that Mueller has been working with Trump to first, provide a platform by which to expose the corrupt FBI and DOJ staff (all of which has now been noted by the OIG) and to slow-walk the release of material to create a growing awareness and acceptance of the level of corruption and criminal activity within the federal goverment. Why? In order to minimize disruption of the economy and financial pain to millions of Americans which would occur if a sudden lack of confidence were to truly crash the markets and worse.

Trust me, the people running things in the Trump adminstration know what they’re doing. Those who don’t agree with that premise would probably be more at home on the DUmp.

Mr. President, the treachery rises to the level of treason. It was not a witch hunt, it was an effort at a coup to remove you from office. Once you were duly elected, the fraudulent ‘investigations’ were squarely aimed at impeaching you. Don’t give these demon rats any quarter.

Repeat for as long as it takes to sink in:

it was an effort at a coup to remove you from office.

And to actively and seditiously thwart the will of the American People and a legal, lawful election.

The President calls this an “American disgrace”.

Methinks that is an understatement.

The disgrace belongs to Jeff Sessions. He recused himself from being AG on day one, and thus set this whole witch hunt in motion.

He then gave cover to the coup attempt by refusing to resign, thus rendering the office of Attorney General inert and disarmed.

This whole rotten business is on Sessions' shoulders, yet everyone wants Trump to do the heavy lifting.

Oh No!

Yet another “Mueller is actually part of the 4D chess game” posters.

Mueller is a goddamn traitor. He joined the conspiracy early on, and is rabid about taking down Trump. PERIOD.

What’s happening to him now is his worst nightmare: he’s being exposed and will go down with all the other scum he threw in with.

President Trump is absolutely right! I back him now more than ever. The FBI and DOJ is infested with vile dirty cops and scumbag lawyers. I have no respect for either organization, and I probably never will again.
