Democratic countermemo claims FBI revealed Steele funding in FISA application: report

A Democratic memo written to counter a Republican document released Friday claims that the government presented additional evidence that would undercut the GOP conclusion, according to The New York Times.

Democrats have claimed key information was omitted in the Republican document, which was based on classified documents that have not been released.

Republicans say in their now-public memo that the FBI did not reveal that information underlying a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) request came from a politically motivated source.

The Democratic countermemo reportedly claims that the FBI did reveal the source of the information was politically motivated, according to two Times sources.

Officials may not have told the FISA court that the information was partially funded by Hillary Clinton's campaign and the Democratic National Committee, the Times reported.

IIRC, FISA Court already released a 99 pg. document regarding abuse of FISA by Government Officials.

If that was the case, the judge would have never approved of it.

Get the court into hearings. If the DEMs say the Nunes memo is a lie on this point, the only tie breaker is the court.

Does the public have a right to know, or not? "Trust us" is out the window.

Several months ago, there was a discussion about FISA Court denying a couple of requests prior to the one that finally was granted.

So Obama officials farmed it out to British Intelligence to spy on American Citizens, because they didn’t have authorization to do so through our court system.

what they mean is ...
the memo says ...
"The initial FISA application notes Steele was working for a named U.S. person"

I believe ... this named U.S. person was ...

John McCain

the judge is not trustworthy imo.

I agree or he/she would have spoken up by now.

Then that judge must be impeached.

The memo excludes that time period but says it was "not under Title VII" and the accompanying "key points" specifically states there was no 702 authorization covered in the memo.

But that's what the April 2017 FISC Court Order was all about!

There is much going on behind the scenes IMO ... and Comey's tweet suggests he was relieved only a portion was revealed in the memo. TBD ;)

Dems countermemo probably written by Rosenstein. Shifty is not that bright (one bag of fries short of a happy meal).

If that’s true, it just shows why we need to repeal FISA. It does nothing to help the Dhimmicraps.

This does the Nunes memo. Far from it. It adds the FISC judge to the jackpot, if indeed he/she knew it was political in nature - but was not told it was funded by DNC and HRC campaign.

I hope this is true, as it will swell the pool of swamp creatures that need draining

Well one thing is for sure. If anyone can make documents suddenly appear where they never existed before then it would be the democrats. They got lots of practice by making bags of votes suddenly appear.

Gee, I guess all documentation will have to be made available to the US public.

They think they’re so sly. I listened to ABC radio news call it the “GOP memo” all day long while studiously avoiding saying “House Intelligence Committee”.
