I don’t care for the idea of a military parade either. Better to just go kick a$$ as needed, than to flex muscles and beat chests. The optics of this are terrible.

I think you've missed the main point. This is Trump trolling at his world-class master level. Already Twitter has exploded with the early Tard responses, and they are devastating. The Tards are in full "F the Military" mode.
Imagine that the parade is set up for Memorial Day or 4th of July, and then Tards are ranting about "honoring the military, no, I don't honor the military" etc. etc.
He doesn't even have to have the parade, the push-back is already over the top.
Yeah, I do realize Trump is continuing his world-class trolling. They’re freaking out and showing their true selves in the process: if not political coup, then actual coup. I also think he may be tweaking Fat Boy, terrifying him with the prospects of NK’s show of force paling in comparison to a real US arms display.
I’m just hoping he’s messing with them, and doesn’t have a NK-style spectacle.
They can use real ones and they will still get slaughtered.
