Jeff Sessions on Nunes memo: "No department is perfect"
AXIOS ^ | Feb, 02, 2018 | A.B. Brown Jr

Posted on 02/02/2018 12:05:55 PM PST by VideoDoctor

Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a statement Friday following the release of the controversial Nunes memo alleging FISA abuse by the FBI and Department of Justice. I have great confidence in the men and women of this Department. But no Department is perfect.

Full statement:
“Congress had made inquiries concerning an issue of great importance for the country and concerns have been raised about the Department’s performance. I have great confidence in the men and women of this Department. But no Department is perfect.

Accordingly, I will forward to appropriate DOJ components all information I receive from Congress regarding this. I am determined that we will fully and fairly ascertain the truth.

We work for the American people and are accountable to them and those they have elected. We will meet that responsibility.”

“If Trump fires Sessions, hasn’t McConnell threatened not to allow a replacement Attorney General nominee to be brought before the Senate? As slimy as Schumer is, he is not as vile as the Majority Leader.”

The President can appoint any cabinet appointee already approved. He can replace Session with the EPA’s Pruitt. Pruitt is a tough ass Prosecutor.

Yes I trashed many of the birthers here, one of my better moments. In fact the main "document expert" left and never came back.

But this is different. Here I am upholding the Constitution and the rule of law. Your argument is: the other side ignored the law, so let's ignore it. Am I right or wrong?

“What’s most disheartening is the folks who want to toss aside our great republic in favor of tit-for-tat shithole country.”

Yeah, seeking Justice for Crimes is tit-for-tat. Jesus Christ, you are something.

I worry about Trump. Why is he keeping Sessions?

Up until today, I would have said Trump was keeping Sessions to avoid a confirmation fight in the midst of tax reform, health care reform, and/or immigration reform legislation battles. Trump didn't want to give Democrats leverage to tie an upcoming AG confirmation with concessions to legislation.

But now...

Tax reform is done; health care reform is stalled; Democrats are weakened on immigration reform due to their misguided government shut-down and their abhorrent State of the Union behavior; and Democrats are distracted by "the memo" and upcoming abuse of power revelations.

The time may be ripe for some Cabinet replacements. I'd rather see Trump and McConnell take on some Cabinet nomination fights now while there is a lull in legislation fights, a ramp-up in oversight committee investigations into Democrats, and especially before any expected SCOTUS seats open up.

“If Trump fires Sessions, hasn’t McConnell threatened not to allow a replacement Attorney General nominee to be brought before the Senate? “

Yes. Not to mention the various threats from the pink-pantied faggot graham — “There will be hell to pay if Trump fires Sessions”

If Sessions resigns, Trump can appoint a recess AG. I’m not sure if he can do that if he fires Sessions.

They’re many reasons why sessions is refusing to step down. One is the “Saturday night massacre” ammo the swamp will have if he fires Sessions.

Like I said, DAMN THE IMPEACHMENT TORPEDOES AND FIRE THE RAT BASTARD!!!

A few days ago I had actually considered Session doing something as Sleazy as this on the day of the Memo’s release, but I thought, ‘ Nah, he couldn’t be that corrupt”. I was wrong, sessions is that corrupt.

Misuse or misapplication of extra-constitutional authority must be met with the strongest possible constitutional punishment.

I've thought about that for months.
Treason and sedition in all forms was once a Capital offense, no questions asked.
What has changed?

Attacking a Constitutionally elected president absolutely is a deadly threat to the National Security, in a world full of dedicated killers and other enemies foreign and domestic!

e.g. the almost president, Criminal, Lying, Ugly, duplicitous, Fat smelly Cow, whatshername...

Session had to know the FBI lied to the FISA Court, and he did nothing. By not informing the Court of a Crime, Sessions is complicit in the Crime. He committed a Felony

I don’t post articles or know which sites are allowed here.

“U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is planning to refer a declassified memo released on Friday by Republican lawmakers alleging Justice Department bias against President Trump to the department’s internal watchdog office for investigation.” -Reuters

Staggers the imagination, doesn’t it folks? Sessions is trying to white wash this conspiracy of high treason. Sending it out to be laundered by the IG. They should come back with recommendations for Sessions to fire someone in a decade or so.../spit

What a country, eh?

Good things take time. We have three more years then most likely another four.

To correct all the corruption in one year would lead to chaos.

Give it time.
