Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a statement Friday following the release of the controversial Nunes memo alleging FISA abuse by the FBI and Department of Justice. I have great confidence in the men and women of this Department. But no Department is perfect.
Full statement:
Congress had made inquiries concerning an issue of great importance for the country and concerns have been raised about the Departments performance. I have great confidence in the men and women of this Department. But no Department is perfect.
Accordingly, I will forward to appropriate DOJ components all information I receive from Congress regarding this. I am determined that we will fully and fairly ascertain the truth.
We work for the American people and are accountable to them and those they have elected. We will meet that responsibility.
“I believe Sessions is standing with Trump.”
You may want to up your medication.
I have in mind of one of those lizards that appears frozen until the prey is in just the right spot and then comes the lightning thwackk of that tongue that nails 'em.
Not being in a position to affect this fustercluck one way or another, I'll keep my trust in President Trump and his team to handle it in the way they deem best for the Nation's well-being.
MAGA !
Yep, I heard something somewhere that some Senate committee is going to ask for some prosecutions?
The MS-13 are imperfect. Al Capone was imperfect. Let’s just let lawlessness reign. Sessions needs to go.
“Sessions Knew they Lied to get FISA warrants and did Nothing, he is a dirty cop
He told Congress he would “do nothing” (about Russia-related matters) and kept his word.”
Not informing the Courts of a Crime ( Lying to the FISA Court ) is a Crime itself.
Time to end the don’t-hurt-my-feelings faze and get to the rule of law. Lest we forget how long this crap has lingered, mainly because Sessions let his underlings stonewall congressional oversight. Is the foot-dragging and destruction of email evidence just one of those slight imperfections?
I agree with you. Sessions has been busy, he just doesn’t talk about what he is doing.
He is a lawyer.
WORTHLESS< DUPLICITOUS< COMPLICIT WTF is his boss gonna do about it?
Hey Jeff. here’s a clue.
all roads lead to Clinton. Phony dozzier in an attempt to steal the election and get Trump impeached ( coup d’tats are treason.). Foundation fraud and money laundering. Uranium to Russia. Illegal file server and handling of classified info. Play for pay to state department access. 5 bill mismanaged at state. Lies, lies, lies.
“In one sentence Sessions killed the memo and undercut the President right at the knees. Words escape me.”
Worth repeating. It is also worth noting that virtually the entire GOP, THE PARTY OF BUSH, have come out in defense of mueller and the special counsel.
What’s most disheartening is the folks who want to toss aside our great republic in favor of tit-for-tat shithole country. Luckily Trump does not agree with that idea.
That's what I was hoping for
“No department is Perfect” will be the lead on Every Network, and Session planned it that way. He is beyond treacherous.
p.s he also committed a felony by not informing the FISA Court they had been lied to.
Make the DOJ a little more perfect. Resign.
This memo confirmed that the DoJ and FBI were weaponized by the Obama administration and violated the rights of innocent citizens. Sessions’ weak response is a mere shoulder-shrug: “Well, what can you do? Mistakes will be made.”
Does that response give you confidence that your civil liberties are secure? Tells me the opposite, that these kind of abuses are bound to happen, and oh well if they do, nobody is perfect.
Sessions had to know about some of this, or all of this. If he didn’t he doesn’t have the intelligence or brains to be in this position. If he is really this stupid, maybe he should be in a nursing home.
If he is just plain corrupt or compromised, that’s another story. He’s been around long enough, to know some of the games.
Exactly - It isn't that they used the FISA court illegally - it's WHY:
SEDITION.
Why is no one bringing this out?
Plotting to take out a sitting administration = SEDITION.
If Trump fires Sessions, hasn’t McConnell threatened not to allow a replacement Attorney General nominee to be brought before the Senate? As slimy as Schumer is, he is not as vile as the Majority Leader.
“... as presented by the prosecution. Now, let’s see the defense”
You went to bat for O’muslim on the birth certificate threads, too.
