Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a statement Friday following the release of the controversial Nunes memo alleging FISA abuse by the FBI and Department of Justice. I have great confidence in the men and women of this Department. But no Department is perfect.
Full statement:
Congress had made inquiries concerning an issue of great importance for the country and concerns have been raised about the Departments performance. I have great confidence in the men and women of this Department. But no Department is perfect.
Accordingly, I will forward to appropriate DOJ components all information I receive from Congress regarding this. I am determined that we will fully and fairly ascertain the truth.
We work for the American people and are accountable to them and those they have elected. We will meet that responsibility.
The coup happened on Usurpation Day, January 20, 2009.
What is going on now is the struggle to re-establish the Constitution and the rule of law.
I agree. He is correct. He is not gonna call everyone in the fbi .or doj bad...they would ALL get defensive...the.not guilty ones will be OK...the scum will soon be found out and hopefully destroyed..by the law..(maybe some will turns states evidence).or..their overlords...I hope his dept. behaves like an A-10 warthog.
Don’t try to blame Jeff Sessions’ incompetence on President Trump.
He took Sessions at his word, that he was a fierce defender of law and order. And others were also telling him what a great AG Sessions would make.
BS. Sessions is way over his head.
We’re facing a constitutional crisis, our most powerful and trusted institutions are DANGEROUSLY corrupt, and instead of having a lion as AG we have a mouse.
You are grasping at straws. Sessions *is* that pathetic. Trump currently can’t replace him because the 2IC at Justice is one of the swamp creatures from the Obama Administration and the Senate of NeverTrumps has said they will refuse to confirm a successor if Sessions is fired.
Sessions is a swamp apologist.
BINGO
Jeff milksop Seesions
This will be the lead stories on the Networks tonight, and Benedict Arnold Sessions Knew it when he said it...
when the doj/fbi are not perfect, innocent people go to jail and / or have their lives destroyed.
the DOJ has a HORRIBLE reputation as dishonest AMONG LAWYERS!!!!
it seems they EARNED that reputation.
No, because as Trump has said, Sessions basically lied to him to get the job.
After the mid terms when Republicans hold the house and gain in the Senate I believe there will be numerous firings/retires and Trump will be replacing many of those who let him down. Until then Trump keeps his cool and keeps exposing the swamp. Trump wants the Mueller investigation to complete on its own with no findings about him. This would inoculate him from being investigated again.
Trump will not fire Sessions right now. That would be giving the Commies the gift they want, to initiate impeachment proceedings.
This is why the midterms are so important. If patriots make significant gains, then expect President Trump to fire Sessions sorry ass and nail him to the wall for the disgusting blob of traitorous flesh that he has shown himself to be.
“But no Department is perfect.”
If Jeff “Moribund” Sessions had been one of Lincoln’s cabinet members at Ford’s theater on April 14, 1865,
he would have calmed Mary Todd with, “There, there ma’am. We won’t let this ruin the rest of the play.”
He told Congress he would "do nothing" (about Russia-related matters) and kept his word.
I believe Sessions is standing with Trump. I believe that Trump/Sessions and all white hats are not saying what they really think because the Dems and MSM/deepstate have primed the public to look for signs that Trump is “taking over” and using arms of the administration (e.g., OIG) the SAME WAY Obama did - as partisan suppression of opposition. Session’s measured tone is relaying to the public that Sessions hasn’t made up his mind because he hasn’t seen the evidence and heard the FBI’s defense. Also Session’s response indicates he doesn’t “have it in” for the FBI and perhaps is part of Trump’s overall plan to maintain stability as much as possible. In these ways, I think Sessions is largely speaking to the undecideds or those becoming disaffected with their Dem leadership.
I agree. All that is needed for an indictment is evidence from the prosecution - they have met the threshold. So, let’s charge ‘em and let them present a defense.
Jeff Sessions is part of the swamp.
I worry about Trump. Why is he keeping Sessions?
Ya beat me to it by one post! Agree!
Sessions a little rough on his employees, there.
Excellent metaphor with an excellent fictional character choice.
“Sessions is a full traitor.”
Which should have been obvious to any rational person after his recusal.
The fact that there are more than a few here still defending that POS rat bastard, makes our FUBAR predicament even more disheartening
