The American Bar Association’s top officer has warned the Trump administration and Congress to stay out of the way of the independent counsel’s probe of the Trump campaign, saying people are trying to use “intimidation tactics” to derail the investigation.
ABA President Hilarie Bass said the nature of American democracy depends on Mr. Mueller being able to get to the bottom of what happened surrounding the 2016 election.
“The United States has a history of using independent investigations to protect the nation against abuses of power. For such investigations to work, they must be allowed to go forward unfettered by threats, intimidation tactics and interference by other branches of government,” Ms. Bass said, as the ABA held its 2018 midyear meeting.
She said the questions Mr. Mueller is asking are of “critical significance,” and said “democracy itself” depends on allowing him to work independently.
The statement comes as the White House is planning to release a controversial memo drafted by Rep. Devin Nunes, California Republican and chairman of the House intelligence committee.
The memo reportedly details surveillance abuses by the FBI.

They didn’t show much concern when Democrat Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer proudly proclaimed at their meeting that the Democrats had cheated for them in Montana so that Democrat Jon Tester could be a US Senator.

In a year Mueller hasn’t found any and there’s nothing to investigate.
And the indictments he did get had nothing to do with Russia.
Can anyone summarize the ACTUAL offenses that it is clamed the Ruskis did to help get Trump elected?

IIRC some hacking of state data bases was traced back to a DC govt. agency.
As I see it, its totally the opposite. Nunes is taking on a huge amount of flak. And it makes me think that the furry means that its all true and all as bad as we think. If it weren’t they would fight it on face value.
But I am interested in the IRS, Benghazi cover up, and the general weaponizing of the government against conservatives. Which means, against the American political system. While I fault Obama, I think it started with George Bush when he let the CIA go into America. And let the FBI become a spying organization as well as a crime fighting organization.
Is this the same organization that has for years allowed corrupt lawyers to run amuck. Like all these top officials in the FBI.

Democracy does not use a secret police force to cover for one corrupt candidate and setup the opposition with planted media smears, fabricated evidence, and a cabal of fifth colimnists.
The FBI in Boston knew that 4 people who were framed for murder in the 1960s by local police were innocent & they let them rot in prison for close to 40 years. They had the info.....and sat on it.
Lets not forget that Muller is running an investigation base on Evidence he knows is tainted. Muller swiped all the Trump transition Emails Illegally without a warrant, and without even notifying the president. Muller is implicated in many previous High crimes.
Where is the American Bar Association in all of that? Crooked as can be.

The Boston FBI office was corrupt from top to bottom....the management & most of the field offices were dirty. This incident is not even related to the whole Whitey Bulger cluster-you-know-what.
The only way the memo affects Mueller is if it shows the whole Trump/Russia thing was a ruse.
The Democrats are in full panic mode so I suspect the memo will raise questions about Trump/Russia.
I also think the memo will point to Obama and his administration’s attempt to create the Russia ruse.
